One of my favourite moments at Mt. Fuji. We stayed at Lake Shoji and woke to the most mystical sunrise. It inspired the haiku I posted earlier.

The rain lifted after the ceremony, allowing us to use the beautiful trees and lake at Crams farm for a whole range of photos.

Sometimes its good to step away from the glamour and emotion of weddings and capture something real and down to earth, as we did for this more magazine style shoot of this family living close to nature in Northern NSW.

Even though we live in Australia, we can sometimes find some beautiful Autumn colour. This is a wild persimmon grove on our place. Perfect for this photoshoot with Amy. What do you think of the black and white version?

We were invited by a lovely lady to photograph her parents, who were visiting from the city. Margaret and Terry are both in their late 80′s (though you wouldn’t think so to look at them or if you met them.) I thought it was such a beautiful thing to do. People of their age or generation would mostly be reluctant to request a portrait session, but it was so important for their children to have these special images. Our stories are shown in our faces, what a wonderful record of lives well lived. The photos have been included in an album to mark their 65th wedding anniversary and all are thrilled with the results!

A few photos of the reception, held in the barn at golden hour at Mavis’s Kitchen in the beautiful Tweed Valley, Northern NSW. Love the cake and topper, by Mark’s cousin. Then came the speeches and the tears kept on flowing!

So many emotional moments for these guys, for the celebrant, for all the guests, sheltering under these beautiful trees at Mavis’s Kitchen! Even while we were so focused as the photographers, we were certainly affected by it too!
