I knit this commissioned sweater vest last summer -- it was my first time taking a knitting commission, which was very scary, but also very fun. It's knit in By Laxtons' Sheepsoft DK, using the same pattern I used for my friend's sweater vest.

This is Ethel.

She's a ryeland ewe, and when I took the photo I drew this from she was heavily pregnant (and not happy about it!). Ryeland sheep are one of the oldest british sheep breeds, dating from around the 1300s, named for the rye pastures they originally grazed on.

I drew this in oak gall ink, a new favourite material of mine, and something I plan on making myself at some point. It is a greyish colour at first, and oxidises to a deep (slightly blueish) black after a few minutes. The colour can change and develop over a few days though, so some patience is required.

i haven't really done much art in the past few months... or realistically the past year. i really want to submit something to a local gallery's open exhibition this year, but if i want that to happen i need to actually make some art to submit -_-

anyway, i drew a sumatran tiger. it was a fairly quick sketch, which is good because when i went to export it i realised it was only 72dpi - i got a new laptop and haven't used csp since apparently, so haven't changed the default canvas. i'm also missing all my brushes so will have to go download a bunch of those too.

A sweater vest for my friend, using designs from a 1760 german pattern book that i meticulously copied into stitchfiddle and then arranged onto a pattern.

i painted a bench for my window :)

a garfield jumper i knit for my friend! overall i'm very happy with it, although the sleeves are a bit long (which is a recurring problem, but easy to fix).
