Do people even know how casually and pervasively U.S. christians believe actual witchcraft and demons are a tangible everyday threat? Because it should be horrifying that these people just walk around thinking that way.
This isn't harmless religious freedom, it's an untreated ongoing mass hysteria dangerous enough that these people have zero business ever touching any form of educational work, medical work, law enforcement or politics and yet they outright dominate those last two. Your local state senators quite possibly think little goblins from hell are as real as like, seagulls. And they think you're possesed and brainwashed under their* influence for not agreeing with them.
*the demons, not the seagulls...but maybe?
Seagull brainwashing could have legs
three lions on a shirt, something something something
One of the guys I worked with told us a story about how, when they were doing archaeology surveys in the woods they ran into a bigfoot hunter. Bigfoot guy asked if they had seen signs of bigfoot, and he was like "Sorry, nothing like that. We're archaeologists, so we're looking for human stuff." and the bigfoot guy was like "Oh! I saw some Native American cairns on my way out here. I can give you a general location." and when he was like "Yeah dude, that'd be sick. We're actually looking to document those." the bigfoot guy was like "Yeah, they looked pretty cool. I didn't touch them though, because Native Americans built them, not bigfoot."

thinking about white women and the purring jew
It’s a bit like how you can be scrolling through /an/ having a relatively wholesome experience only to see someone referring to a seagull as “the feathered jew”

/k/ are trying to deny the existence of Iranian missile cities
@ashittyaesthetic
They’re these big underground bases, dozens or hundreds of meters down where you’d need nukes to dig them out. Iran stuck a load of its missile stockpile there, which is how they still have…two thirds of it or so left after months of fighting. America or Israel could bomb the entrances but couldn’t get to the insides, so Iran would just dig the doors out again and go right back to mogging the Gulf States
funnily enough there’s a lot of spooky theories about America’s underground stuff, but I haven’t heard much about Iran’s. Surely someone must have an idea, maybe they’re keeping Elvis there or something

I'm watching this ghost story on YouTube. It made me remember the time I stayed in an (allegedly) haunted hostel facing a swamp. My roommates are cool, but they're always in a state of anxiety after dark because they're afraid of the things they have seen and claim to always see, so they always disappear on the weekends. But I always said and still say to this day that I never actually see anything so direct like a whole apparition, unlike them. I do have strong memories of being scared of something though, but today I'd say it is just my mind giving shape to something I assume was there.
Now, I'm saying this because it made me remember there was a time I was so scared of being alone on the weekend that I underwent some sort of hallucination born of rigid denialism of what was happening. I hallucinated my roommates being there for the whole weekend even though they weren't there. My neighbors even conducted a check on me, asked me if I was okay staying alone. I said I'm okay.
I just binge-watching anime on my laptop in the dark and chatting with my mom on the phone in a desperate attempt to control my fear. And I just pretended my roommates were in their own room, but I think I might have pretended too hard because I hallucinated the bedroom doors shaking. But I didn't scream through; I just convinced my brain that my roommates were there. So I went to my bed and just slept. The same thing happened on the next day. And I somehow just shrugged it off.
It's actually possible to hallucinate yourself into courage...that's the lesson here.
