Brier originates from a species of long forgotten carnivorous fauns that predate the age of man. But they were long overshadowed by their more gentler and visual appealing cousins.
Losing their land to humans, they quickly went into a famine and many perished during winter. Where her species sought to preserve what they had, Brier chose to adapt.
To the modern day; Brier has lived amongst humans for a long time. Utilizing her ability to shapeshift she has been able to make herself look...more appealing to the human gaze. But as a result she has lost many of her instincts, where there was sadistic savagery, now lies an almost calculated gentleness. Like she was afraid to disturb the very land she walked.
She has forgotten what she is.
Now she is weak, barely clinging to survive, but she is managing. Working as a taxidermist by day, clinging to every scrap of her strength to stay hidden. By night, she becomes a ravenous scavenger, collecting roadkill, picking whatever meat looks good enough to eat and then selling the bones as new stock in her shop.

Brier met the members of the circus unexpectedly, having bared witness MC stop a man from hurting Pierrot. Initially she was in shock, not because of the human's selfless act. No no, it was the sight of another monster. She knew not because of his scent, but the by the rhythm of his heart, it beat different from humans.

"Brier is very quiet...but she says a lot without really speaking."
Pierrot finds Brier to have a very grounding presence. He sees the efforts she is willing to go for the sake of not being found, he admires her ability to have adapted and kept hidden for so long without the aid of others.

"She's no fun. Something isn't right with her."
Harlequin finds something bothersome about Brier. In the way she moves, the way she speaks. Like she'll crumble at the very thought of being seen for what she is. Not to mention she seems to not even react when he messes with her.

"The deer legged one? pitiful really. Surprised she has lasted this long."
Jester finds Brier's ability to survive fascinating, but also reckless. She shouldn't need to starve in order to keep hidden, not when there are plenty of humans she could easily hunt. Especially in those woods she is always found in at night.

"Brier domesticated herself for the sake of...barely surviving. Truly she could do better if she hadn't forgotten herself."
TT is of a similar opinion to Jester, he doesn't understand why she would trade her claws to..adapt to humans, let alone stoop so low as to eat what is already dead.

"She is...a fascinating experiment."
Doctor finds her recklessness for survival an interesting point. As she refuses to eat human meat, despite the amount of times she had been brought to his tent after many fainting spells. Funny how she always seems to be around circus grounds when it happens. He is still collecting data on that.
Brier is a woman of few words. But her mind is swimming with thoughts about the others.

"Ah, man of few words in public. He has a big heart...for a monster."
Brier is intrigued by Pierrot's fascination with the human that protected him from that man. She doesn't particularly encourage it, because to her; why mate with a human? why not another monster? This was a touchy subject when she asked.

"...Full of himself for a man that clearly still hold grief in his heart."
She sees through is facade, he's afraid of losing again, deflecting affection or genuine care for what purpose?
J e s t e r
"The leader of the herd...resourceful. Calls my methods reckless; if i was, I would've died with my kin."
Brier tolerates Jester as much as he tolerates her. While she finds the reason for the circus to be perfect bait. It's far too...tame, where is the thrill of the hunt? the chase? Ironic coming from a scavenger.

"Where to begin...a proper monster truly. One can appreciate a monster that relies on illusions."
Brier finds an odd fascination with TT, his compulsion for order and structure draws her in like a moth to a flame. Yet she tries not to stare too long.
He can feel her watching.

"Oh...The doctor. Well he certainly is an interesting one. Can't say i don't owe him for the many times I've found myself in his tent after a sudden fainting spell. I did hear he had a collection of specimens at some point...maybe he would like a custom one...just as thanks."
She likes doctor and feels as though she is indebted to him for saving her hide when she would faint.
Very long post I know but Brier has been in the works since I started using Tumblr again and I really wanted to make sure she was just, to my standards i suppose you could say. I do take a lot of pride is making my ocs as well rounded and fit into the universe they are for, also i hope no one is too OOC, i am still trying to grasp personalities and dynamics and all that. ^^''
