I cannot express to you how FAST it has gone. I grew up in a world that does not exist now. We're starting on the path to reverse it, globally. You might not know how much solar has EXPLODED in the last decade or two. It's gone from a side thing, a weirdo novelty that was just Not Viable... to whole countries investing in infrastructure. but we have to keep fighting big oil and fascism everywhere we can in order to keep on this road to a new better less scorching burning earth.

And that wasn't done on purpose just sort of how it ended up, but Jake recently got an injury so they put him on a Different boat just for a little bit (a sit in the wheelhouse and scout type of boat, instead of the main fishing one) and he only got back to my dad's ship today and he was apparently like Shaking. He was Traumatised.

Dad said Jake kept pulling him aside and going "They were all yelling on there, but in a MEAN way" "They didn't clean... Like at ALL"

Jake experienced what a boat full of old school Aussie fisherman is like. That is the norm Jake. You just happened to be on the all Island boy boat on your first go out. "It was time for dinner and they had FROZEN nuggets" Jake that's what they have on ships that are out at sea for months at a time.

On my dad's boat they are eating fresh fish and coconut milk Ceviche. They're grilling steaks on an open bbq on the deck that probably is not regulation. All the guys have their own special knives to prepare sashimi every couple days. Everyone is happily doing their own work so they can clock out early and set up a movie on the deck. Jake did you genuinely believe that's what every boat was doing.

Trans women are constantly subjected to a "catch-22" in regards to our genitals. On the one hand we're subjected to a decades-long campaign of transmisogynistic medicalism that requires trans women to want vaginoplasty and to seek it. But then on the other hand we are subjected at the same time to gatekeeping and fetishization that blocks trans women from being able to get vaginoplasty. And that same culture also regards us as "mutilated freaks" that have "permenantly ruined" our bodies when we are able to get vaginoplasty. We're damned if we do and damned if we don't, and that is by design. There is no version of a trans woman's body that is acceptable to cisnormative society.

So it is absolutely monstrous that there is such a pervasive attitude which paints trans women who have had vaginoplasty as "not real trans women" — even and especially among trans women ourselves!

Like, every fucking day on this hellsite I'll watch y'all do things like get angry at an artist for depicting a trans woman character as having a vagina. Once I had a date walk out on me the moment she learned I'd had vaginoplasty, and she was a trans woman! I've even had a lot of trans women insist that those of us who've had vaginoplasty have cissexual privilege now!

Like, how do y'all not see that this is just transmisogyny of the exact same caliber that reinforces the fetishization of us? This is the same shit that is used to justify the medical gatekeeping we are all subjected to!
