Also I feel that the idea of an impending apocalypse is VERY Christian in that they think the rapture is coming and that generally explicitly means the death of all “non believers” i.e. Jews. Idk if this makes sense but that’s why the wording makes me uncomfortable

We have this interesting situation where we basically no longer have privacy nor the expectation of privacy, but we also don't have community or meaningful connection with others, so we're all simultaneously both completely exposed and absolutely alone, and please understand that when I say this situation is "interesting", what I in fact mean is that it's "nightmarish and I wish I could wake up"

you have to be careful reading too many things that are good/smart/well-written bc then you encounter something that isnt and you get confused like ? why didnt they just make this good ? were they stupid

Often I will read something that isn't very good and I'm like "I don't know how this got so popular but good on the author for getting into writing, all of us start off by writing bad things" and then I learn that they've been writing for ten years and the story was optioned for a Netflix movie before they even finished writing it because they have a rich uncle or something and it's like "oh they're not a newcomer learning their craft, they just don't give a shit about writing."
