Got a new sketchbook and I'm trying to force myself to actually use it. Since I got my ipad a couple of years ago my sketchbook has been mostly abandoned since ipad sketching is much more convenient. I have been finding myself super into using tombow markers in my sketchbook lately more than copic or other alcohol markers though. And my collection of those is starting to grow.

August Patreon mini print reward! I had so much fun with this one, especially leaning into the gouache highlights as much as I did. It feels like my art is moving in a new direction without actually changing much at all. Just giving it a little extra OOMPH I've felt like it really needed lately. I definitely did not get to pick enough blueberries this summer. The fresh fruit is the only thing that makes this horrible heat bearable! While everyone else is hyped for fall we're still sitting here in the upper 90's 😩 This fella is the first real attempt at using gouache highlights on my marker art instead of colored pencil. It's more work but I think it's really worth it in the end. And no more pencil dust to clean up from my scans!
