June 16, 1957: More than a million people sought relief from the 92.6 degree heat at Coney Island, the city’s hottest day in 1957.

Potsdamer Platz had the privilege to witness the Deer Dance, a traditional ceremonial dance of the Indigenous peoples of northern Mexico.

As part of a protest against the construction of an ammoniac plant in Topolobampo, finance by German companies, members of the Mexican diaspora gathered to call on German society to pay attention to the issue and join the opposition to a project that would have devastating consequences for the region's environment and its Indigenous communities, whose way of life already depends on a fragile ecological balance.

The protesters urged people to support the petition on Change.org (x) and encouraged greater public involvement in demanding that politicians cancel the project.

"Take your factory to Hamburg, not to our country," was the message delivered by the demonstrators.
