thousands of people in chicago came out tonight to protest against trump. I’m posting this image here for all of you who are struggling with this result. seeing all these people peacefully protesting outside trump tower has brought me to tears and it makes me so proud to be a chicagoan.

I agree that Trump is terrible, but I don’t think it’s very mature of you to shit on every supporter. They may be misinformed or something, but whatever the reason, there are better ways to show your frustrations.

I would also like to point out that everyone fully knew why they were voting for him. Most of the people who voted for him where White Cis Straight people. They know full well that they were supporting a child rapist, a rapist, an abuser, a homophobe, a transphobe, a racist bastard. Literally everyone in the U.S knows that Trump hates minorities. 

The electoral college hasn’t voted yet. 

They don’t vote until December. And while 29 states and DC have laws requiring electors to vote along state lines, the rest don’t.  Donald Trump only got a few votes (nine) into the majority. 

If a handful of electors swing or even abstain and become faithless electors, the entire system would get thrown into crisis. 

These are the states that require electors to vote according to state popular vote. That leaves:

All states where electors can do whatever the hell they want. In fact, even in the other states electors are only subject to a small fine. 

So, in summary, until December you can harass the hell out of your electors (list found here). Remind them who won the popular vote. Remind them of their duty to protect the nation. Tell them how the presidency will affect you directly. A faithless elector is a pretty big deal, and even one of two would make a big impact in terms of showing how awful our presumptive president elect is.

If you live in a state that has electors going to Trump, get the contact info for your electors. Bother them. Call every day if you can. Then get your friends to call as well. Do not let up until they have made their final vote. Here is a list of states that were extremely close but ultimately won Trump AND have no penalty for ignoring the state vote:

Every state that voted for Trump needs to ensure that their electors know exactly what the people want. Even if your state has a penalty for switching, make calls. Make a fuss. There’s gonna be electors who hate Trump but feel obligated to vote for him. Give them a reason not to. Be loud. 

Never, EVER call him “president”, it strips the most powerful title in the world away from him and it will drive him insane, call him “Klansman” “Bozo” “Jackass” just anything BUT president

NEVER call him “Trump”, instead, do as John Oliver made popular, call him “Drumpf” it strips away the power of “Trump” (there’s Chrome and Firefox extensions to help change any “Trump” to “Drumpf”)

Vote in the 2018 mid-term elections. Fill it up with Democrats so his life will be made a living hell (and hopefully impeached)

Be proud of whatever the hell you are, whether it be Hispanic, Black, LGBT, poor, young a woman, just be proud in the fact that you are everything that Jackass Drumpf isn’t

Do everything you can to have the fucking Electoral College get rid of (it’s fucked us over too many times and is un-democratic)

Get your ass out to vote in the 2020 Democratic primaries and election, get his ass out of office with someone who actually represents America

·         Thanks to the ice bucket challenge the gene responsible for ALS has been found, meaning we are closer to an effective treatment. Let me rephrase that: we are close to getting a treatment for a very bad disease because a lot of people (including really hot celebrities) got wet.

·         A solar powered plan circumnavigated the world.

·         Michael Jordan donates 2mil to try and help bridge connection between police and the community.

·         Tiger numbers are growing.

·         And manatees.

·         And pandas.

·         Pakistan has made strides toward outlawing honor killings.

·         70,000 Muslim clerics declared a fatwa against ISIS.

·         Pokemon Go players went insane with placing lure modules near hospitals for sick kids.

·         California is now powering over 6 million homes with solar power, a record in the US (and that is the tightest shit)

·         Precision treatments for cancer are hitting clinical trials and WORKING (as someone who’s had relatives with cancer this is the best news)

·         Captain America: Civil War. Seriously is the best marvel movie yet in my opinion I need more.

·         Zootopia. Oh don’t mind me I’m just a movie that tackled the issue of racism and not only game changed animated films but also made a billion dollars

·         The Hamilton Mixtape is coming out. Which is a bunch of artists singing songs from the musical (Sia, Usher, Regina Spketor, etc.) I’m excited.

·         A personal victory for myself, I joined Tumblr and met angels in blog form so…that’s uplifting.

·         And I met my favorite voice actor at a con which was a bucket list accomplishment.
