Backstory? or something like that:
A, because it's faster than a full name, survived alongside Nora in vault 111. she had been given entry due to her connection with one of Nate and Nora's neighbors, but was the only one out of them to actually make it inside. She had been on a steady upward climb prewar, having finally found a good job as a live in housekeeper/nanny to a father and son duo who had won her over completely. she was 25. Before this job, she had a promising future in science, but fell sick on entrance exam day and never went back due to embarrassment and lack of tuition money, despite support from her friends and family.
in the Wasteland however, A was a bit out of her depth. after finding a locket meant as a surprise gift in the rubble of the family home, she struggles with survivors guilt. she knows her boys, being in the center of the city picking up last minute Halloween things, likely had no chance of surviving.
A has beef with her new surroundings, and a new set of problems. She could cook and organize and fix, but combat was something she struggled with. Trailing behind Nora, whose husband and own tough career had taught her a few things, she realized she was seriously lacking. A eventually determined she would be better off finding a settlement to stay in while Nora continued the hunt for Shaun. That fell to the back burner as she realized that while she couldn't hit a dead rad-roach if it was lying directly in front of her, she could sure as hell scavenge. Her pack rat habits ended up being her best asset, and the caps she made simply by trailing in Nora's wake were too good to pass up. Eventually, she gained enough confidence with a Bladed tire iron, and she began ditching guns completely, opting for thick armor and melee weapons.
Nora, A, and Nick landed in Goodneighbor on a rainy night. Nora paid for a room at the Hotel Rexford, and left to go speak to a doctor Amari about someone she had killed, taking Valentine with her. A, deciding she was bored, wandered out. she knew it was safe enough. Neighborhood watch pointed her towards the Third Rail.
(now i misplaced my handwritten draft for this part but basically she gets wasted because she has the tolerance of a rasin, runs into MacCready, and hires him because then she feels like she can let Nora continue the Big Mission without her, but shes also not totally alone and can continue her Scavver lifestyle. Also because bro has drama and she’s drunk and like “omg dramaaaa” (she pays full price too i think, yikes lol)
As the story goes on there's a whole Nora side plot but the gist of the rest is they sort of butt heads at first because he can't understand how she's still alive and she doesn't understand why he hates her picking up aluminum cans so much. as they work together more, they start to work better, she gets braver and more combat efficient. they both have a night where they talk about the kids in their lives, but later that conversation fuels a large misunderstanding as its clear she isn't entirely over what happened, and he doesn’t feel secure. they kiss and make up eventually but not without a ton of Lore Drama and her taking a Long Vacation out to the Atom Cats garage because they're like her best friends.
much angst, very emotion, maybe a side-quest love or 7 with Hancock, and Nora picks the brotherhood and kind of becomes a dick but i haven't gotten far enough to decide if she keeps being that way or not.
may update this later idk if you made it this far hi whats crackalackin?
