I would guess it didn’t register with him or Louis. If you’re not a POC, then many racist microaggressions and racially coded behaviors are gonna fly right over your head. However, someone should explain to them and there should be a public apology for it. But we all know that’s not gonna happen. And that is infuriating.

Of course, with his luck, he puts them on backwards and the shirt is inside out. Not to mention it has a stain on it. “I hate my life.” He mutters, glancing at the clock on his forearm. Everyone had them. They counted down to when you would meet your soulmate and- “Oh my god.” Liam says softly, looking at his. There was only 30 minutes left on it. “Holy shit.” He mumbles, sitting down on the edge of his bed for a second. “Ok, stay calm.” He says to himself even if his heart beat is doing the exact opposite of that. 

Liam sits on his bed for probably five minutes before he remembers his class has already started and he needs to hurry the fuck up. Going back to his mad rushing around in an attempt to get ready for school, Liam’s brain is only half with him, the other half on his clock. 

Was he going to meet someone on the public bus (which he would have to take because the school buses would be long gone. Liam hates the public bus, honestly)? Would there be a new student in one of his classes? Was he going to end up walking and walk into them that way? His mind was running through so many possibilities, making himself go a bit mad. 

He’d imagined meeting his soulmate before, everyone has, but this was the first time it had ever seem real. His clock was constantly changing, but the time was so far in the future Liam didn’t think about actually meeting his soulmate and now he was- 6 minutes away from meeting them, jesus. 

Unfortunately we’re severely lacking in soulmate verses that reach all qualifications (lengthy, well-written, entertaining,etc.), but there are some. Soulbond fics are common among a/b/o fics, which I count as the same thing. Most of these I found on ao3.
