Well, its pretty obvious to me that its about Cynthia. “I was dreaming of the past, and my heart was beating fast…” his past was with Cynthia. He wrote it in the late 60’s which was when him and Cynthia were falling apart and had JUST met Yoko so it cant be about Yoko. “I didn’t mean to hurt you, im sorry that I made you cry”…we all know he treated Cynthia badly. Every time I listen to the song my hear breaks a little more knowing that he never meant to cause Cyn so much pain :( -Anonymous
