Beyond Evil saying that you have to care about the 'other' women, the women you don't see as part of your community or society, the women you don't know beyond a reputation – you have to care about their lives and wellbeing because you're never going to be immune to the injustice that happened to them. you're never going to live in a peaceful society when they are harmed. maybe a blind society, maybe a world where you have to pretend your hardest to exist, but it won't be real. you can't protect your sister if you don't protect the sex worker because an abuser will need nothing more than one decision to target anyone. the show having Juwon turn a vulnerable woman he could blackmail into an easier bait, the town gossiping about Jaeyi's mom more than being proactive about helping in her search, the ease with which Jinmuk could make Jeongje's mom look the other way for years while all those women remained buried. the show makes you sit with the idea of victims being more than the innocence or sin you could assign to them. it makes you sit in a town where anyone can be guilty and makes them face who decides anyone's reputation and makes you consider how little or lot reputation means.
