Oh YEAH he INARGUABLY got them done!!!!
They were thicker the year before, one the 1980 One Trick Pony Tour. London (pictured right) was the final stop of the tour in November 1980.
Paul (who was bullied in school for his eyebrows btw) was basically an indoor cat after the OTP tour as he became very depressed and had to seek therapy. He had JUST got home from seeing his therapist in another state when he received the call about putting on a free Central Park concert.
These photographs were taken on Wednesday 16th September 1981, before the Concert in Central Park on Saturday 19th. I had always thought these were from the 1982 tour but they are from Central Park rehearsals as I found them in a newspaper published just before the concert. I might find earlier '81 pictures of him yet but this is it for now.
And then THIS PHOTOSHOOT BELOW HAS BEEN BUGGING ME. Again, I always thought these were for the '82 tour but every source says they're from 1981. I haven't yet come across them in ANY promotional material put out before the concert (again, I might yet) and I'm not sure why they would be put out after the concert when they weren't planning to stay together at that point.
His eyebrows look slightly thicker here to me (ik im hallucinating now), so were these taken before he got his eyebrows done circa 15th? Or after, and a makeup artist just filled them in a bit. They definitely didn't grow in this much naturally before the Concert as his eyebrows remain thin there.
Comparing Wednesday's photograph with these, I'm thinking his eyebrows just *appear* thicker because of the higher contrast, and so with the world-famous MILF shirt, they may have even been taken on the same day.
Until I find the original publication of those colour S&G images, if there even was one in '81, it's hard to say when exactly the photoshoot was taken.
The next pictures below were from the rehearsal-come-press conference held on Thursday 17th.
My scientific conclusion as to why they appear EVEN THINNER HERE?? (jk its the contrast again but listen) he cried at exactly 2:43am and plucked them himself or got Carrie to do it for him.
Anyway, we've seen that Paul grows the world's thickest beard so that makes me think that he got his eyebrows done maybe the weekend before at the earliest? But it wouldn't surprise me if he got them done only when press started being taken, so MAYBE Tuesday 15th?
The only "staged" picture I've found so far directly advertising the concert is this abomination, released in The New York Times on Friday 18th September 1981.
Tf am I supposed to do with this??
Anyway, this research will either get me a job as a forensic analyst or land me in a nice white padded room and atp I dont mind which.
