We could be heroes...

Season 12 is now a memory, and I’ve done a break down of the “brother touching” moments that I love so much.  This season was pretty good with the BM's, scattering them through the middle episodes, and giving a jackpot in the last two eps.

Rock Never Dies (E07)

Lucifer is inhabiting the body of rock star Vince Vincente, who has locked down a venue full of concert goers.  Sam and Dean try to approach Lucifer but he uses his demonic powers to throw Dean to the floor.  Sam rushes over and kneels behind Dean, helping him to sit up - Dean's back is cradled against Sam's chest.  Sam then helps his shaky brother to get back to his feet.

Lotus (E08)

BMOL hitman Mr Ketch shows up to save Sam and Dean from the Secret Service, after the boys are caught on an isolated road.  Ketch pulls out a grenade launcher and blows up the SS vehicle.  Sam & Dean duck down behind the Impala as the other car explodes - they end up squeezed against each other as they hunker down behind the bumper; Dean's hand grasps Sam's waist for a bit.

First Blood (E09)

The Winchesters have escaped from the secret government facility and are running though the woods.  When they stop to rest, they are pressed together side-by-side against a tree.

Lisa Sunder Has Some Regrets (E10)

Sam and Dean cram into a small diner booth with Cas - the boys are squeezed against each others sides from shoulder to thigh.  Later, they are temporarily blinded by a rogue angel, which knocks them off their feet.  Dean grabs onto Sam's shoulder while his sight is affected -- he keeps his hand on Sam after they get back to their feet.  Later, Dean goes alone to face angel hitman Isham.  Sam arrives, then Dean is knocked to the ground.  Sam runs to him and grabs Dean's arm to help him back to his feet.

Regarding Dean (E11)

Dean has a forgetness spell put on him while chasing a witch -- Rowena is asked to assist.  Sam takes Dean by the arms and moves him to the motel bed to sit while he and Rowena talk.  Sam has to frequently remind Dean that the spell is taking his memories - after another reminder, Sam pats Dean on the arm before leaving him to do more research.

Twigs & Twine & Tasha Banes (E20)

Sam and Dean meet up with witch twins, Max and Alicia, to help find their missing mother.  After the mom turns up, they all sit together and wine is passed around.  Sam offers to go pick up a food order and hands Dean his half-filled wine glass, patting Dean's knee just before getting up to leave.

Who We Are (E22)

The Winchesters are splitting up - Sam to hunt down the BMOL, while Dean stays behind to try to reverse the brainwashing that was done to Mary.  Dean tells Sam that he knows he's more than capable of handling the situation, then he pulls Sam into a fierce hug.   They say "bitch" and "jerk".  

At the end of the episode, both Sam and Dean were successful in their tasks and all three Winchesters are reunited  After an emotional heart-to-heart between Mary and Sam, he gathers his mother into a forgiving hug.  Dean watches them approvingly, then pats Sam on the shoulder.  While holding Mary, Sam reaches out and pulls Dean into the sweetest 3-way hug ever.

All Along the Watchtower (E23)

Season 11 was a banner season for brother!touching (BT), with a total of nine episodes.  I made a list, for reasons.

11x04 - Baby:  Sam and Dean reunite after they've both have been through life-or-death fights with the monster of the week (a 'nachzehrer').  Sam puts his arm  around Dean's shoulder/Dean is tight up under the curve of Sam's armpit, as they make their way back to their Baby to drive home.

11x10 - The Devil in the Details:  Sam has ended up in the cage with Lucifer, who is torturing Sam so he'll agree to be Lucifer's vessel.  Dean and Cas are transported into it by Rowena to attempt a rescue -- a 4-way battle ensues. Sam is pretty battered and slumps to the floor.  Dean rushes over to check on and shield Sam; his arm goes over Sam's shoulder then on the back of Sam's neck, his hand slides up into Sam's hair.

11x11 - Into the Mystic:   A banshee is haunting a retirement home.  Dean falls under its thrall, because he is vulnerable due to his "bond" to Amara.  The banshee's shriek has compelled Dean to uncontrollably bang his head into the wall.  After the banshee gets killed by Eileen, Dean slumps to the floor, freed of the banshee's hold.  Sam kneels in front of Dean, who puts his arm over Sam's shoulder as he checks Dean for injuries.

11x15 - Against the Mat:  Demon Shawn has thrown Dean through a wall.  He is groggily getting up from the floor when Sam comes over and helps him up - he grabs Deans bicep and arm and levers him off the floor.

11x16 - Safe House:  Sam has dragged unconscious Dean out of the creepy dark room where the Soul Eater stashes people.  Sam props dazed Dean up against the wall and pats his shoulders.  Bad BT - the brothers have a brutal fight while Dean is under the hold of the Soul Eater.  Best BT - after the monster is vanquished, Sam cradles woozy Dean against his chest while they are sitting on the floor - Sam also pats him on the head.

11x17 - Red Meat:  Sam gets shot in the stomach and falls to the floor; Dean runs over and puts his hands on Sam's stomach to stem the bleeding.  The wound is bad so Dean does field surgery and removes the bullet from Sam's stomach. As they attempt to leave the cabin and get help, Sam stumbles, weak from blood loss and pain. Needing support, Sam puts his arm over Dean's shoulder; Dean holds Sam's waist.  End scene:  the brothers leave the hospital; Dean puts his hand on Sam's back as they head towards the Impala.  

11x20 - Don't Call Me Shurley:  Amara has sent a deadly fog into town - it penetrates the police station where Sam, Dean and the townspeople are barricaded inside.  Sam inhales the fog and collapses, black veins standing out on his skin.  Dean in unaffected; he sees Sam fall and runs over to check him.  He grips Sam's leg, holds his shoulder, then runs his hand to grip the back of Sam's neck.  His hand continues up to pet Sam's hair.  Dean tells Sam "I'll never leave you... EVER!", keeping comforting hands on his dying brother.

11x22 - We Happy Few:  Dean and Sam sit side-by-side in the bunker, listening to Lucifer and Chuck air their differences.  Their shoulders, arms and knees are pressed together as they watch the discussion.  Later, they watch as Chuck and Amara argue; the Mark of Cain is passed onto Sam.  Dean rushes over and holds Sam's shoulder as he fights the effects of it.

11x23: Alpha and Omega:  The episode starts with Sam helping Dean up from the floor - he holds his arm to lever him up.  Later, Dean consoles Sam with a pat on the shoulder after they visit their mothers gravesite.
