So if all is an illusion, we let everything be? so does this mean we can have any illusory experience, it's not about change but more so since all is an illusion, we can enjoy them as well no?

the interpretation of change is subjective to a person. there is no change, how could there be when there is nothing to let be?

who is "we"? An experiencer can enjoy them, find satisfaction in them, but the experiencer too is not true. There is nothing wrong with that, I say it to remind you that " " can only be aware of itself in confined forms that never capture it because attempting in itself is impossible.

Is it just nothing? The absence of a thing?

but for further context, when i was explaining to my friend. she said it was no different from nihilism, and i think the nihilism in her head was "no meaning in life" not the literal "no objective meaning"

nondualism can't be nihilistic because nihilism is literally just another concept. I've seen people interpret nondualism as "give up, nothing matters" when it just states that no thing is without IT.

And isn't everything seeming? You could say that about any idea, nondualism aims to be more than just a theory or a way of life, it is the only truth, an unchangeable factor.

two very different things, solipsism is still a concept and any/all concepts are destroyed by ND.

the only time I see people compare the two is because of this idea of "only I'm real" despite that not being alike either.

The "i'm" mentioned is the body and mind, "I'm (identity) is real", its the belief that one is the only real thing in an unreal existence, but in ND there is no or - how do you know your (identity) is true at all if everything else isn't? how do you know that 'you' are permanent? You know you aren't, so this "I'm" isn't the one who's actually aware.

I understand where you're coming from and I partially agree,

for me the line is drawn when one mistakes themselves for being the one having the desire, the idea that 'observer needs it.'

"when it's not a sign of anything" i think that puts it best. just like with the whole Vanessa / Lara thing, the issue is making it seem like they function without Self. They're here and that's fine but it's only through you.

easily it is unnecessary. self-inquiry is more so for those who 'struggle' and wake themselves up through illusion. you don't need to do it -- for the very same reasons you mentioned.

I occasionally suggest it, however even I don't partake in it. there's no reason to. whatever self there is it isn't going to answer, I'll just imagine it is through thought.

there's nothing wrong with it [not self-inquiring], there could never be anything wrong with what you 'do'. personally I think it's just ... burdening. lol it sounds like a chore to me, like studying a subject you dislike after already having got a passing grade.
