The population of Japan is starting to decline at an alarming rate as fewer people are getting married and fewer couples are choosing to have children. A disturbing statistic is that more adult diapers being sold in this country than baby diapers as the population continues to dramatically age. There are also more pets in the country then children now. The government had instituted all kinds of measures to reverse this trend with no effect. Some estimates are that the current peak population of 127 million Japanese will be reduced to approximately 80 million by 2060 unless this trend is reversed.

The silence is heavy. I stood on the curb next to my apartment and all I could hear was silence, all I could feel was the warm, tender breeze; all i could smell was the potent aroma of lavender, and all I could think of was my time in Japan; this time, three years ago... Cry. My eyes said. Cry. But I couldn't. I couldn't say that I don't trust him to take me back there. I must always say I trust Him with every hair on my head and every bone in my body and every ounce of my being that He will take me back. Nothing seems to escape my memory when it comes to Serve Japan 2011... I remember the sunsets, the bike rides, the Rosalind smiles, the Helen jokes, the "Tadaima" entrances, the bows, the Onsen, the life, the Christ, the culture and the joy. None of it alludes me. None. I just want to use all that I am and all that I have to prepare for the Land that awaits me. All of it. Psalm 103:1 type all of it. The longing is too intense, and the desire too great...
