A/N: This is my last post, and so I wanted to finish this blog with a part two to what I started it with: Friends to lovers Coups!! Also god not @ me putting this off for months because I would just. Have Feelings and a mental block every time I thought about this post HDSJAHSDF
It’s been many years since you and Seungcheol started dating now
Many happy years, might you add
Cheol doesn’t wear his ratty old sweatshirt he always wore anywhere except around the house now (in part because you steal it BUT THAT’S BESIDES THE POINT), and he doesn’t wear baseball caps nearly everyday the way he used to, and he’s a little more mature looking now that you’ve both graduated
But he’s still the loving and doting boyfriend you’ve always known
You two eventually moved out of the dorms and into a cozy little apartment near campus, where you spent many nights getting your plans interrupted by his friends
I’m kidding!! ,,,Kind of lol
You did get to enjoy many nights alone together relaxing and and going on dates and doing other couple stuff
But there were also lots of nights where his friends would show up pretty unannounced lmao
You couldn’t really be mad- you loved his friends and you thought it was cute to watch Cheol act like a dad to them

Hoshi is still one of the worst offenders tho lmao
Cheol literally hides the spare key somewhere new every like 3 days and Hoshi still always finds it and busts in like HEY SEUNGCHEOL DO YOU GUYS HAVE ANY EGGS I’M ALL OUT-
You no longer work a part time job at the convenience store and are instead working in your desired field, aiming for your dream job
So Cheol can’t just waltz in and buy banana milk and snacks and such from you anymore
But he still does his best to come and visit you every so often, bringing snacks to you and delivering them with a gummy smile and a kiss on your cheek
Cheol still flirts with you all the time too like that hasn’t changed LMAO
Your name in his phone is always absolutely ridiculous nicknames like “Honey sugar plum sweetie darling 💞💞💞”
Nobody even bothers to try and hit on Cheol because the minute someone speaks to him for any reason whatsoever he’s like “haVE YOU HEARD ABOUT THE LOVE OF MY LIFE WE’VE BEEN TOGETHER FOR YEARS AND LOOK THEY’RE MY LOCKSCREEN AND HOMESCREEN AND DESKTOP BACKGROUND AND-”
The boys cringe and fake-gag whenever Cheol flirts with you and you two start making heart eyes at each other
But in all honesty they like seeing it
It’s nice to see a couple that’s still that sappy and soft over each other after so many years together
Cheol just likes to be around you
You guys still have your date nights every once in a while but he also loves just,,, the domestic niceness that you guys have in your everyday life
He likes waking up and seeing your face every morning, he likes eating his meals with you, he likes how all your stuff is mixed together in your apartment, he likes that both of your toothbrushes are in the same holder, he likes that you share a dresser
Sometimes you catch him staring at you with this really soft, really happy look on his face and you’re like ???
And he just shakes his head with a smile and goes “Nah I’m just really happy with where we are, I love you so much”
And you BLUSH because WOW you weren’t prepared for a sudden SOFT MOMENT and he laughs when he sees that’re blushing and cups your cheeks and coos over how cute you are to him
But like I said you guys still do date nights from time to time
A lot of the time it’s fairly simple stuff- dinners and movie nights and going to amusement parks and stuff
But every once in a while he’s like let’s do something FUN and EXCITING and DIFFERENT than usual!!!
And you never know what he means by that because it’s always so unpredictable but you always just kinda roll with it
Once that meant an overnight camping trip at the beach, another time it meant driving out to the countryside to stay at a B&B, another time it was bungee jumping,,,
One time in your last year of uni he straight up just took you on a trip abroad and you were like sEUNGchEOL YOU COULD’VE WARNED ME and he was like ahaha surprise babe :D
He promised to give you a heads up next time he did that though lmfao
Whenever you guys drive places, he tends to sing along quietly to the songs on the radio
Compliment him on his vocal abilities and he gets so flustered and embarrassed because in this universe he is ~not an idol~
But him getting embarrassed like that only makes you wanna compliment him mORE because you LOVE HIM and he’s like BABE PLS I’M NOT EVEN THAT GOOD DON'T MAKE ME STOP SINGING AROUND YOU
Lmao you know that threat is bs tho
Like he says that but if you catch a cold or the flu or something like that, he’ll sing softly to you in order to soothe you enough so you can sleep and lower your fever a little bit
He’s also just super attentive when you’re sick
Seungcheol is a naturally very caring person who does his best to look out for the people he loves as much as possible
So when you’re sick, expect that side of him to come out full force
He’s a little more serious and a little less goofy when you’re like that, wanting to keep you calm so that you’ll rest and just focus on feeling better
When he’s sick though he’s a big baby who just wants all of your attention
And who will WHINE if he doesn’t get it
If you have to go to work while he’s sick, you better text him ever couple of hours to check up on him or he’ll get pouty LMAO
He just loves you a lot and when he doesn’t feel good he wants lots of love :((

Whenever one or both of you gets sick and then gets over being sick, he always wants to do something outdoors
And he says it’s because FRESH AIR IS GOOD FOR YOU but in reality he just feels like he has a lot of pent up energy if he can’t leave the house for a long period of time
He’ll keep it to a chill activity, like apple-picking or walking along the river or something cheesy like that, but something that’s still outside that you can do together
He loves to send you encouraging messages throughout the day and if you do the same for him, he absolutely m e l t s
Everyone at his job knows when you text because he visibly goes all soft and mushy the moment he reads what you sent him
His coworkers don’t try to tease him because they know he won’t be embarrassed, he’ll just ham it up and take it as an invitation to talk about you
Seriously u guys are so cute I’m gonna vom but anyways
No one has a 100% perfect relationship though so sometimes you and
Cheol do have your fights and rough patches
And that’s not a bad thing at all- while it can be hard to go through, you guys always wind up taking breathers to remind yourselves that you care about each other and this relationship
And then you sit each other down when you’re feeling calmer and communicate honestly with one another about what you’re feeling and what’s going on
And so you come out the other side of those rougher moments with a stronger relationship
Please for the love of god if you take anything away from this blog let it be that healthy communication is essential to relationships ahsdjfhasjdf ANYWAYS
But you guys are faced with a new kind of rough patch when something happens back at his hometown
It’s a family matter, and while Cheol considers you his family, he knows you have a job and a life you can’t just drop and leave behind
But he has to go back home for a while to be with his family members while they deal with what’s going on
He’s barely even able to convince his job to give him some personal time off to go deal with family matters, he doesn’t want you to have to quit because your boss won’t give you time off to go be with your boyfriend as he goes back home
Your heart is heavy when you drop him off at the station, his bags packed and slung over his shoulder and one of his old university baseball dad caps on his head
You can’t help but tear up a little as you guys say your goodbyes, because you’ll miss him and because you’re sorry you can’t physically be there for him during this time
He wraps you up extra tight in one of his hugs and promises that he’ll come back as soon as he can and tells you that he loves you a lot and gives you a kiss
And then he’s off, because he can’t dally and miss his train
The first couple days aren’t so bad- you guys had been apart for a few days before whenever business trips or something along those lines came up
But after a week, you find that the apartment you two share just feels so… empty
And you’re reminded of how you felt that summer right before the two of you started dating
When there was something there, but neither of you had done anything about it yet, and so you had spent almost three months apart without seeing each other and it made you miss him so much
And at the time, the time apart helped you realize just how much you liked him and wanted to be with him
But now it just made you lonely and thinking about all the little things Cheol tended to do around the house when he was there
The way he would go grocery shopping with you and dramatically throw the door open when you guys came home with arms full of groceries so you could dump them in the entryway to go get more
The way he would unconsciously hold your hand and squeeze it whenever he got all caught up in looking at you
The way he would softly whisper compliments to you late at night, when you were both tucked under the covers together
You guys absolutely had a few sets of couples mugs and it made you a little sad every morning when you woke up and saw his sitting in the cupboard, waiting for him to return and fill them with coffee and tea and stuff
You guys called and texted and video-chatted as much as possible, but those things made you miss him more sometimes
Especially when you saw how tired and worn out he looked on some of your video calls, because all you wanted to do was to be able to support him in person
You wear his hoodies and your old matching couples hoodies to try and feel closer to him but you’re still feeling bummed and missing him whenever you’re not occupying your time with work and friends
He’s gone for two months, and he tells you he’s going to be gone for a little bit longer but in reality he’s just trying to surprise you LMAO
You’re making lunch when you hear the door open and you figure it’s Hoshi so you call out that he’s too late if he wants his own portion and he’s gonna have to make his own ramen or something if he wants anything
But then you hear bags clatter to the ground and a familiar laugh and you’re whirling around instantly
And Seungcheol looks tired from travelling but he’s grinning and he goes, “What, you won’t share just one bite?”
And then you’re sprinting across the kitchen and basically throwing yourself into his arms because holy FUCK you missed him
You guys stand there for a long time like that, just holding each other and reveling in the fact that you’re face to face again
And he lets out a long sigh and says “I never wanna go that long without seeing you ever again, I just wanna be right by your side always”
And you hold him tighter and softly murmur that you feel the same way and he’s gummy smiling into your shoulder as you say so before pulling back and planting a dozen kisses all over your face
“Welcome home,” you whisper when he finishes and he grins even wider as he presses his forehead against yours
“I’ve never been happier to be home.”
