BLUE MONDAY
Lee este post en español.
The third Monday of January might be the most depressing day of the year (I doubt it) BUT the name actually reminds us that blue is a quite nice colour, so here we have some blue fashion from the hand of Thomas Hudson, an artist I don’t usually post (I don’t know why), with a very VERY educated eye for fashion details and fabric textures (take a look at all the lace in the portraits above!), and painting women with disturbingly long necks (that I shouldn’t talk about since my neck is disturbingly long).
Hudson was a very popular portrait painter in London and had the peak of his career between 1745 and 1755. Peter Toms, Joseph Wright and Joshua Reynolds (fuck yeah) were his students, so we know he really knew how to teach as well.
