Introductions Are In Order!
It’s like this. Life is filled with all these little obstacles. Not roadblocks exactly, but things that just frustrate you or create bad feelings, or just make your day a little bluer. Bumps in the road. They’re annoying, but you’re scarcely aware that they’re there—much less say, “oh, this is a problem that needs to be fixed.” That’s just life, right? Parity Bits is a brand-new software company dedicated not only to building great software, but also to smoothing out some of those bumps in the road. Parity Bits is starting out with the smartphone market, and it seeks to make software that is different from the bazillions of apps already out there by coming up with unique solutions that let you live a less fractious life. Its first app, Solomon Decides (available at the iTunes [app store](http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/solomon-decides/id444375373)) is a perfect example of Parity Bits’s take on the world. Solomon Decides cuts through the uneasiness that’s part and parcel of every group decision, where the calculus of what you want is matched with the anxiety about how far to push your choice. Solomon Decides! uses a secret, individual ballot to let each group member figure out what they want and, more importantly, how much they want it. Thanks to the 10-vote system, you can embrace your indecision by divvying up your votes however you want. Solomon Decides makes for an easier, tension-free way for groups to make a decision about anything at all—whether it’s as big as where to move to, or as everyday as what pizza to order. We at Parity Bits think Solomon Decides is a great app, but also a good idea—one that has already let us glide right over at least one of those bumps. And we hope to find solutions to others. So smooth sailing, people, and please, wish us luck!
