---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Psicodelia Cooperativa is a one-man-band. It was originally a group of friends that got together to appreciate herbs and jam. Thus the name (Cooperative Psychedelia) Although the group broke up the idea of mixing prog-rock with 60′s Bossa Nova aesthetics kept alive. But a artist can’t alienate itself from it’s time. So the lyrics aim for topical (but at the same time historical) issues such as social inequality, homofobia, racism and neoliberalism. The recordings were made in a home-studio, establishing technical limitations but providing high levels of creative freedom.
For example; the solitary nature of the composing and recording process imposes certain limitations on the voices. But then the creativity proposes that the voices becomes just another instrument on an "instrumental" track. These technical mishaps ensure a self-analytical dimension during project composition. The voices, therefore, only appear when it needs to appear. To say what they need to say. With short and direct lyrics that seek to synthesize problematizations, arguments, debates and historical records..
Which brings us to the second main dimension of the project: criticism. The Brazilian art class pacified itself in such a way during the 2000 that any post-2013 social critique essay hung between the generic criticism, most often of liberal bias, or protofascism.
People have alienated themselves from art, but art has also alienated itself from the people. Psicodelia Cooperativa seeks this reconnection
Power to the people People for peace
Brazilnaro: Two months in
February 13th, it’s not exactly two months but so much has happened it feels like we need to recap some stuff. In the last 7 days, 10 kids from the young division of Flamengo football team and a beloved journalist, Ricardo Boechat, passed in horrific incidents. Also a storm knocked Rio a week ago, killing 7 people and leaving the city severely damaged. But that’s just to measure how badly our moral has been. While we have to deal with the aftermath of all this tragedies Bolsonaro swing his sword around even from his hospital bed. It’s important to remember that Bolsonaro rose to power as fascists always do: talking about corruption and public security. He also said some insane shit about homosexuals, black and indigenous people and surrounded himself with neoliberals from Chicago. But I’ll focus on the first two because it’s where the brazilian people is hooked on to. Corruption is still a abstract concept for most brazilians. Many people believed it all stared with the Workers Party (PT). Needless to say it didn’t. But a lot of people voted for Bolsonaro because they were fed up with PT’s wrongdoing. So it was shocking (for them) when even before his inauguration Bolsonaro saw his elder son, (Flavio) involved up to his neck in a deep corruption scandal. What did he do? He was a state legislator here in Rio. He’d employed people on his cabinet and take part of their salary. It all broke out when his former driver ‘Fabrício Queiroz’ made 48 bank deposites in the same day in different places to Bolsonaro, his wife and sons.
That was the tip of the iceberg. Queiroz turned out to be involved directly in the militia organizations that started as a parallel state that controlled some territories in Rio.Well, as we’ll se, they’re not so parallel anymore.
As the media looked deeper and deeper into the relations between the Bolsonaro famiglia and Queiroz, they found out Flavio Bolsonaro employed the mother and wife of a militia commander that was wanted for, among other things, involvement in the MARIELLE FRANCO ASSASSINATION A YEAR AGO. It’s early to say Jair Bolsonaro or someone from his family was involved in her assassination. But we can assure they worked with/for those militias. Flavio paid homage to many of these men as a state legislator. Now he’s a Senator. Since the militias in Rio is probably the biggest problem to our public security, we come full circle here. The governor of Rio (a nobody that was elected due to Flavio’s support) ramp up the rhetoric against drug dealers, He stated multiple times that the police it ought to kill as many ‘drug dealers’ and ‘trouble makers’ as possible. “Aim their little heads and fire up” is a popular statement he made. Just this week, as we woke up to the news of fire that killed those 10 kids, other 13 people were killed by the police in a favela. No chance for trial, they yield and still shot. It’s a fucking war crime, but to the police it was a casual Friday. Bolsonaro’s justice and security minister, and former federal Judge who jailed president Lula, Sergio Moro introduced a pack of laws that effectively enables the polices around the country to shoot first and ask latter. Not a word about securing the borders blocking the entrance of weapons and drugs. If we think about it, a Ak-47 isn’t produced inside a favela, it comes through our borders. They don’t produce cocaine there either. Not a word about it. Also not a word about the militias. Congressman Marcelo Freixo has fought those militias back when he was state legislator. He received multiple death threats and has to walk around with bodyguards. Marielle Francos (Freixo’s pupil) fought those militias as city council. And she was assassinated back in march. The Bolsonaro famiglia paid homage to these men and now they’re all elected.
Minister Moro looks away for both the militia problem as well as Flavio’s corruption involvement. And sooner or later we get to see Marielle’s killer happily walk through the presidential palace instead of going to jail. We’ll just never know.
good news everybody
In this store, you go in, shop, and then walk out carrying the item’s you want to buy, and their facial recognition software figures out who you are and charges whatever items you are taking to your account. It’s incredible and creepy.
*Walks into the store with anti-facial recognition haircut/makeup and leaves like a bandit*

Recently the USA stated that in the UN that it will not lift sanctions against Cuba because Cuba continues to (somehow) prove itself to be an anti-democratic society that bases itself on political repression (???), and in response the Cuban UN Twitter account went HARD

“Sometimes I wish we’d met when we were twenty-seven. Twenty-seven sounds like a good age to meet the person you’re going to spend the rest of your life with. At twenty-seven, you are still young, but hopefully you are well on your way to being the you you want to be.”
