Listen. Lucille doesnāt care about Eliott. If she did, she would have let Lucas come with because she knows itād bring comfort to Eliott to see that Lucas cares. Especially when heās been so sad after Lucasā comment on his mom. Her speech and behaviour doesnāt come from a place of caring for someone you love. I see people trying to defend her by saying ābut Eliott cheated on herā, and since I know what it feels to be in this exact situation I will tell you that when you deeply care about the person, you donāt care. Nothing matters anymore except them being ok. You let your bad blood aside because you understand that itās not in the person best interests. Lucille did the opposite of that. She lashed out, was controlling and manipulative. She wanted to present herself as all-knowing of the situation and all-knowing of what Eliott think and feels. Itās not only infantilising it is also, I repeat, very manipulative and selfish. She thought of her and her own feelings first in a situation where Eliott wellbeing should have been a priority and thatās what is so disheartening and frightening, especially with her comment āhe /canāt/ love youā and her dismissal of Lucas feelings and legitimate worries. Eliott is not her thing. He is an adult and can make his own decisions and he decided to leave her and love Lucas, if she cared she would accept thay albeit being hurt. She would put her feelings aside to deal AFTER the event, not right in the middle of it. So stop defending her like she had ANY rights to say what she said because she DOESNāT.
