The sixth drawing in my series completely out of order is the first computer programmer, Ada Lovelace

Lovelace’s true brilliance lay in her ability to see, Charles Babbages mechanical calculator, the Analytical Engines potential far beyond simple arithmetic.

The fifth drawing in my series completely out of order is the first well documented woman in maths.

She broke traditional gender barriers to become the head of Alexandria's Neoplatonist school, where she edited major mathematical texts, built astronomical tools, and lectured to diverse crowds of pagans, Jews, and Christians.

Drawing her was an interesting experience as we do not know what she looked like, I based her appearance on a drawing in Elbert Hubbards book: Little journeys to the homes of great teachers. When it came to colouring in her photo I based her skin tone, hair and eyes on my yiayia who is Greek Cypriot as there are no texts on what Hypatia would have looked like.

The third drawing in my series completely out of order is the mathematician who made monumental contributions to the fields of number theory and mathematical physics despite facing severe systemic discrimination.

Sophie Germans pioneering equations laid the groundwork for modern structural engineering, directly influencing the mathematical principles used decades later to build structures like the Eiffel Tower.

The second drawing in my series completely out of order is the woman who won the Fields Medal Winner, solved a breakthrough in Geodesic, Discovered the Magic Wand Theorem and is an Olympiad champion.

Maryam tragically passed away in 2017 at 40 years old but her legacy lives on as her birthday, may 12th, is celebrated as international women in maths day.

If this series does well, I want to turn them into a print collection where a portion of the proceeds will be donated to a charity to help more kids access STEM and education. Representation matters, and so does opportunity.
