Sometimes a whimsical idea makes its way into the shop and there is no one who gets more excited than Kris Notch. Kris has gained a passion for doing water color tattoo’s and enjoys giving people a lasting memory of their pets who may not always be around. Every once in a while though you get a piece like this where you get the oppurtunity to turn a loved pet into a figure that might be seen in a Tim Burton movie. A Shakespearean cat is not a commonly thought about image but Kris is able to make it into a wonderful piece.

Breaking Bad is a phenomenon that captivated audience across the country and beyond. People were able to connect with the characters at a basic level and none more so than Walter White who would become known as Heisenberg. Walter White began his journey as a chemistry teacher at the high-school level, providing for a wife and a son who suffers from cerebral palsy which has made it impossible for him to walk without the use of crutches. Shortly before his wife is set to give birth to another child, Walter learns that he has cancer. With only his medical coverage from the school and his low salary, he knows that he can’t properly fight the disease and that if he dies, his family will be left with nothing. In an act of desperation to provide a life for his family and potentially save his own, he puts his chemistry prowess into making the purest meth possible. This leads him to eventually creating a highly concentrated meth (99.1% Pure) using a chemical know as methylamine that creates a blue meth that becomes known as Blue Sky. In this tattoo artfully crafted by Adrian Franco we see Walter White with the Blue Sky overcoming him and taking over the man he used to be, turning him into the drug kingpin known as Heisenberg.

The water color tattoo has grown in popularity over the last few years for its complexities and beauty. There is no better way to demonstrate such beauty then on something so loved and cherished as pets. Water color is perfect for this type of imagery as it allows for the sentimentality of the dogs to come through but have the unique free form characteristics of the water color. 

Engaging in a large tattoo such as this is no small feat especially for a part of the body like the lower leg. On the lower leg you have a mass of bone in the shin, the tendon in the Achilles and the mass of muscle that is the calf. This makes up very different types of sensations and creates a unique experience. In the shin you get the needle on bone contact which causes a sort of vibration, the Achilles is much different with the needle feeling as if it goes in the skin only to disappear and hit nothing and the calf gives a burning sensation that some often find invigorating. Of course, tattoo’s hold different levels of pain for everyone but the lower leg really presents aspects of all the realms.
