Legends Never Die

It was cold this winter, very cold. It was probably one of the coldest days of the year. The sound of snow crunching under her boots as she walked quickly almost went unheard.

Mokuba's words hung in her head, she had made a promise to the younger Kaiba brother when things began to fall apart. So she used every resource she had and more to keep an eye on her former boss. She felt lucky that he had stopped only a few hundred feet from her apartment building, so it didn't take long him to come into view. There he was, laying in the snow.

It was a struggle getting him from where he had fallen back to the warmth of her one bedroom apartment. Placing him on her bed, Kisara got to work placing as many blanket as she could on him. Warming him up was her goal.

Finally she sat at the edge of her bed, placing her hand gently on his forehead, hoping he hadn't caught a fever while outside.

Then blanket after blanket was deposited atop him. Then a warm hand.

That voice- He knew that voice!

“It’s you!” Seto sat up, face close to hers, lips forming into a smirk. “We’ve never met in person, have we? You look better than I expected.”

Kaiba made some distance between them, leaning back. He had seen her though pictures of blurry hacking, but never in person.

It wasn't that she didn't like people, she just wasn't used to something being this close to her. She wasn't great with people. It was why she worked from home all these years. True she could talk with others through a phone or other means, but in person was a bit hard on her.

"I'm a bit scared to ask how you thought I'd look." She answered, he probably meant that as a compliment.

She let out a sigh, that wasn't important right now.

“I’m fine.” He reclined anyway, because he chose to, not because he was told to.

“I’ll take both.” Seto answered. Cold settling in, he covered himself up to his neck. “I didn’t need your help out there. I had my reasons for laying out in the snow.” Depressed & lost in thought reasons. The situation he was in pissed him off, turning onto his side.

"I figured as much. No offense, but you left traces when you tried to get into my cameras." She felt a bit of a proud smirk cross her lips as she headed to the kitchen in her small apartment.

Hearing him admit he had his reasons for being out there she felt herself roll her eyes. "Sure you didn't." She merely said as she worked on getting him something warm to eat and drink.

The cold wind was blowing through the Dreams Country for a few days now. The people of the country did their best to combat the cold and brisk harsh winds and keep warm. Madara was no different. Despite living alone, he often helped the main village of Yumegakure when the time came.

Those were the first thoughts that came to her mind as she felt herself reach some sort of concious state.

Her eyes, ever so heavy, lifted for a fraction of a second before dropping again. She must have been exhausted, though she wasn't sure why. The last thing she remembered...

Wait!

Madara saw some of the townspeople gather in a small circle. To his surprise, Madara saw that they were gathered around a body, a woman. The group made space for Madara as he inspected her. The first thing he did was check her pulse. She was breathing, thank goodness.

While it was a relief this woman was alive, there were still questions left unanswered. Those will have to wait, for now his only concern was making sure this woman survived.

"Take her to the clinic." He instructed.

She could hear voices, faint, but they were there. She could feel her body being supported then lifted. Whomever it was that was there didn't seem like a threat at least.

Then sleep. She could stop herself from drifting off to sleep suddenly, and her dreams were so vivid. No, not dreams, memories.

She saw her older cousin Hashirama, promising to stop the fighting. Her other older cousin, Tobirama, trying to pull his older brother from his dreams. The next memory, more vivid than the last. The news of the war finally ending, it filled her chest with so much emotion.

Eyes shot open the moment the memories stopped. Sitting up she held her head for a moment before taking in her surrondings. An older woman rushed to her side to help steady her, bright light filled the room.

"You're awake," the woman said with a warm smile, "You were unconcious when we found you two days ago. Oh! One moment."

Sayuri watched the women walk to the door and yell out to someone else. "Go grab Madara-sama, let him know our guest is awake."

That name sounded familiar.

"What's your name?" the older woman asked suddenly by her side once more.

Oh! Was she no where near home then?

"Sayuri. Sayuri Senju." Her answer came past her lips before she could stop herself.

The professor could understand how Lyra felt. He had seen his lab in shambles numerous times. Plus, he had learned the hard way about the importance of having his research backed up. Still, as the older professor, Kukui felt like this was the time for him to try to be the calming presence in this situation.

"I know..." she spoke letting her words trail off in almost a defeated tone. Still, she took a step forward, picking up one document that laid on the floor. Flipping through it she placed it on the coffee table.
