releasing a new song on the day of their Lollapalooza debut and pronouncing the title in the chorus in a way that sounds like Lolla. so fucking smart. now, any Filipino who hears this song will associate it with the day a homegrown Filipino group performed in Lollapalooza for the first time in history, leading to nationwide watch parties at ungodly hours in Philippine time

This song is a collaboration between SB19 and the Queen of CPop Jolin Cai, but since Ms. Jolin wasn’t there, the boys made a different arrangement. really love when Stell and Pablo started battling it out with their vocals!!!

SB19’s MAPA performance in Lollapalooza 2026

This song is an ode to parents, and the title, apart from meaning “map,” is a portmanteau of the words “mama” and “papa,” which is how Filipinos commonly address their parents. It’s not included in the video (had to cut it out coz the fancam didn’t have audio for it), but before they performed this song, Pablo actually said:

*the 2019 image is from their practice video of Go Up, the song that was supposed to be their last if they still weren't popular, but it ended up going viral on social media. a press conference was held for it afterward, but interviewers were targeting them negatively, asking them questions like how can they say they're representing Filipino culture when their songs sound Korean.

finally found some good photos of their fits. the moment i saw them wearing these on stage, my first thought was “oooh yin and yang.” mind you, Pablo was also wearing a white coat, but his had some floral embroidery, so my mind didn’t instantly connect him to Jah. Justin’s coat is also made of leather, which is Ken’s signature. Ken himself is also wearing leather pants. so yeah, they really look like a pair here.

but as the set progressed, everybody started taking off their coats because it was so fucking hot, so then they were just yin and yin 😂

they still look really good though. and justin dancing with those flirty expressions??? he’s sooo cute 🥹💖
