Ive always been a maldaptive daydreamer, as in, retreating to fictional worlds I created in my head to avoid how awful the world around me was constantly. It got so bad at one point, that I was daydreaming so often sometimes Id forget I was in public and stare off into space. When I was about 14, I was waiting for my ride home from school, and I was recorded drifting off by some girl I didnt know very well, and the video spread across the school, with people calling me crazy, hideous etc, because I was mouthing along to nothing.

This started my intense fear of being percieved I think, but nowadays with the concept of raybans I just assume my face* is plastered on every social media site already. Its also one of the reasons I avoid essentially all social media but here and rage scrolling on reddit. Its normalised to record random strangers and humilate them online because eveyone is a drone.

Stop putting value in the sham of "romance" (which is an invention of patriarchy btw), and start valuing healthy relationships with people who value you as an individual and not as an object of their own fleeting and perverse pleasure.

I agree mostly. But I do think humans only form any bonds as a means to gain something. I do not believe them capable of "healthy relationships" even platonically. Love in a vacuum doesn't exist. It always is about something. Convenience. Ending loneliness.

Friendship is a transaction too. it's just not about sex. It's about them needing entertainment, fulfillment, someone to drive them to the hospital, someone to pick up their groceries, someone to vent to, ect...

True selflessness cannot exist in humanity so love doesn't exist either. Even platonic love is an illusion.

But yes sex has nothing to do with human bonds and it is devoid of anything other than lust. Lust is the reproductive drive and all it needs is people to fuck each other. Romance was invented to facilitate this process but it is also an illusion.
