The clock struck 3am.

Connor lied there, beside you. Your back turned to him; watching the still ceiling fan, motionless, the blue light from your digital clock bounced off everything that decorated your room; even you.

He looked at you. Sleeping soundly, he noticed your temperature was higher than usual and took it upon himself to remove the duvet wrapped around your form.

The blanket fell, exposing you waist up. Connor rested on his elbow; observing you silently.

At first to see if you were still asleep; after that was confirmed and he tried to roll over and go into standby mode—he realized he couldn’t. He kept thinking about earlier, when you two were on the couch, you’d fallen asleep watching some cheap rom-com. Before that, you two were dangerously close to going at it when a simple compliment took a surprise turn, alas you were interrupted by a parental phone call from Hank. A dunk, parental phone call.

“(Y/n),” Connor nudges you, a little too hard; which quickly rose you from a deep sleep. Your eyes blink open, letting reality and the fuzzy numbers on your clock fully regenerate you.

“Mmm?” you hum in reply, coming to a full wake when Connor leans in, kissing the nook of your neck. He knew you liked it, and he couldn’t keep the needy version of you from his memory out of his mind.

he offers you another bottle, flashes his palms and shakes out his sleeves before repeating the counter-hit tactic (with a little extra fumbling and a “i messed that one up on purpose, just to be clear”) and even if your brain is rolling around your skull screaming “hands!” it makes it a lot easier to make conversation

Connor had looked at you for the first time three months ago. That was when you had come to the police station after you had witnessed a robbery in downtown Detroit. And that was the time he thought his program wasn’t working correctly. He felt a strange sensation in his abdomen, that slowly spread up to his neck as well as downwards.

First, it was unpleasant, so he checked his body for malfunctions and even scanned for viruses. No malfunctions found, no viruses detected. The sensation slowly faded until he locked eyes with you again. It caught him off guard and made him stop in his tracks. Everyone around him seemed to notice his strange behaviour, except for you.

Three months later you had become friends. With an android! Certainly, a thing you never thought that would happen, but it certainly had. Connor was different than anyone you had ever met. His thoughts were as neat as his clothes. His words always clear and never dishonest. Pure and trustworthy. Warmer than any human could ever be.

Detroit was reclaimed by the Androids. Every Human was supposed to be evacuated, but everyone who still wanted to stay was free to do so.

Not many stayed, most people left without a second thought, others took longer moving with big moving trucks and taking everything with them and others just stayed were they were because they didn´t mind living besides Androids as equals.

One of those, was Hank Anderson who now lived with an Android himself.

Unlocking the frontdoor Hank and Connor were immediately greeted by Sumo, who wanted his daily dose of scratches especially from Connor, since he couldn´t get tired of it.

Hank let himself fall onto the comfortable couch, while the Android still petted the big Saint Bernard Dog.

“God damn it is already this late, who would have thought this damn thing would take so long.” Hank was mumbling in his beard while thinking what food he should order now.

“A lot of Androids have to be registered. It will probably take another 12 days 7 hours and 51 minutes.” throwing a grumpy look over his shoulder, Lieutenant Anderson just shook his had at the new addition to the family.

“How often do I have to say this Connor, don´t just stand there like a creep! Make yourself at home boy.”

Grinning slightly, Connor nodded and looked down at his jacket which switched from ‘RK-800’ to ‘Conner A.’, then officially since today he was a part of the Anderson household.

“Is Sumo my brother now?” Connor suddenly asked and Hank rolled his eyes.

“Don´t make me regret this!” he said sternly but knew the android tried to joke.

Just when Connor was about to joined Hank on the couch they could hear another key turning in the door.

Turning around Connor soon stood in front of an unfamiliar but, what normal humans would consider, a beautiful woman.
