He sat by the seashore trying to sort out the things in his mind. After playing by the sand—drawing things unconsciously—he stopped and looked at me like he haven't seen me for such a long time. "Where are you going after this?" Chen asked while looking through my eyes, deep and seeking for answers. I just smiled at him, giving assurance that wherever I will go, I'd be happy and safe. He looked away and stared blankly in front of him, trying to figure out whether he's going to be happy or not for me. I know I made a promise. I know I made it for him. But I guess, just like any other promises, it is after all, meant to be broken. I know that he knows that it is way beyond my control and that if only I was stronger, better and more able, I wouldn't leave him like this. NO, I wouldn't even think of leaving him. He then smiled sadly. I can sense that he's dwelling in the past, thinking how all of this happened. I remained silent beside him, just watching and wait I ng for him to say something. "Why.. why do you have to leave me?" He said softly. "You know how much I love the sound of your laughter, right? How will I start the day only to wake up without the smell of of the coffee you always make for me? How am I supposed to sleep without the soft touch of your hand caressing my hair? Or my face? Tell me how am I going to go through the day thinking of ways to make you smile again? ..how? When you're not here?" He said, wiping the tears falling uncontrollably down his face. I want to tell him.. I want to tell him that I'm going to miss every single moment I am with him. I want to tell him that I'm going to miss his sweet smile the most. That more than him, it hurts me the most to think that I have to leave him even if I don't want to. I want to tell him that if only I could bring him along witg me, I would. BUT, I am not that selfish. I won't let him lose his life just because I lost mine. "Why didn't you let me say goodbye to you at least?" He hugged his knees, his back arching up and down matching the sound of his sobs. Because I never want to say goodbye to you. The wind blew harder when I reached out my arms to hug him and the rain began to fall slowly when a tear escaped my eye. I know you'll be okay without me. You are a great guy and I know that you know how much I love you but I just have to let you go this time. Maybe our litte forever ends here and I want you to find someone who will never ever have to leave you again. I know that when God asked me to come with Him, He already made another one of me to love you more than I ever could.. And I want you to find her. Find her and be happy again.. . FIN~.
