ohhh that makes sense for me i had a strong sense of intuition since i was younger manifesting in dreams and communicating with others, i think what helped to ground it fully was using it for everyday activites

Reading for yourself is the hardest reading you will ever do, and everyone who pulls their own cards eventually hits the wall. You can read cleanly for a stranger all afternoon and then sit down with your own spread and get nothing but fog. That is not you losing the skill. It is the one situation where you have something at stake in the answer.

The whole problem is neutral. To read a card you have to let it be what it is, and you cannot do that when you already know what you want it to say. The wanting sits down between you and the card and starts doing the reading for you.

This is projection, and it runs both directions. Sometimes you read the card you were hoping for and call it confirmation. Sometimes a hard card lands and you read the entire spread through dread. Both of those are your own material, not the message on the table.

The clearest tell that it has gone sideways is the re-pull. You do not like what came up, so you shuffle and ask again. The second pull is almost never a cleaner answer. It is you talking over the first one, and the first honest pull is usually the one that held.

The other common wreck is the doom spiral. One heavy card shows up, the Tower or the Ten of Swords, and suddenly every other card in the spread reads like bad news too. The card did not get crueler because it was your spread. You got louder.

So the first practical move is to change the question. Drop 'will this work out for me' and ask 'what does this situation look like from the outside' or 'what is mine to do here.' Third-person, situation-first questions take your thumb off the scale, because you are no longer asking the cards to reassure you.

The second move is to write it down before you interpret it. Question, cards, one flat first impression, and then leave it. Come back and read it later when the heat has gone out of it. The record you made in the calm is almost always more honest than the story you told yourself in the moment.

And sometimes the right call is not to read for yourself at all. When you are too far inside the outcome to hear a no, you will not hear it, and no spread will fix that. Ask someone neutral to read it, or wait until you can. Knowing which questions you are not steady enough to ask yourself yet is skill, not a failure of nerve.

The cards are not kinder to a stranger and crueler to you. They are the same cards. The whole craft of reading for yourself is getting quiet enough to read what is actually on the table instead of what is sitting in your chest.

I have a good one

My spiritual jorney started as young as a child cause I had dreams about dead people all the time. They were trying to grab me, pull me or talk to me. Sometimes they were agressive or they were trying to warn me from something.

Well I remember I was a six year old who was too afraid to go to sleep. I was creepy cause once I asked my mom what time she'll be home and she said "I'll be back past midnight, go to sleep don't wait for me" and I casually said "At midnight the dead people wake up is that right?" WHH DIDN'T MY MOM CALL THE WINCHESTERS IDK

And I didn't just dream of dead people, I could dream of people dying. The person I had a dream about would pass away within like a few months. One of the creepiest dream I had was digging a grave for somebody and then my aunt appeared saying "come on you must dig, we have to burry him" and my cousin passed away six months later.

But on the bright side, I can feel when a woman is pregnant, I can dream of it and I can take a look at you and be like "hmm something is different" or I can predict when you will have a baby just by looking at you.

So yeah that's how it started. I was basically born with it cause these stories go as far as I remember.

Oooh i love it! It seems that you have something to do with Life and Death. Dead people ans babies. They’re all part of human exeprience, that’s Life itself. You can know when something ends and something from that point begins. I don’t know how else you could use this kin perception but I find it really beautiful~

a message to all the maladaptive dreamers out there who say the law “doesn’t work” because they’ve “felt it real” for years but never saw results:

you weren’t living in the end, you were fantasizing about the end. there’s a difference. daydreaming, dissociating, and creating elaborate mental movies won’t change your reality unless you identify as the version of you who already has it. the law isn’t activated by desperation or escapism. it’s activated by conviction, embodiment, and self-concept.

you can spend hours feeling it in a dream, but if you wake up and still believe you’re not that person, you’re reaffirming lack. fantasizing is not assuming. pretending is not becoming.

and that’s the real core of it, it will always come back to identity. if you keep calling yourself a “maladaptive dreamer,” someone who escapes into fantasy to cope with a reality you don’t like, you’re reaffirming the exact version of you that doesn’t have what you want. it’s not just a habit, it’s a self-concept. and as long as you stay attached to that identity, you’re choosing to live in a faraway lalaland where the desire always feels close… but never quite yours.

you didn’t “do it wrong,” you just weren’t doing the law. the law of assumption is not maladaptive dreaming. maladaptive dreaming is a legitimate condition, a compulsive, often isolating cycle that has deeply affected so many people’s lives. and i say this with so much love, because i’ve been there too. i know what it’s like to get lost in your mind for hours, to feel safer in a fantasy than in your own body, to cling to imagined realities because the present felt unbearable. but you have to stop. no one is going to save you. you are the only one who can decide to come home to yourself.

the law asks you to assume the identity of the version of you who has it. maladaptive dreaming keeps you stuck in the identity of someone who’s always trying to get there. it’s not about cutting off your imagination, it’s about using it consciously, with discipline, with intention, with love. not to escape your life, but to create it.

stop calling yourself a maladaptive dreamer. stop diagnosing yourself with an identity that keeps your desires far away. before you ask “how do i do that?” remember what the law of assumption is about: identity creates. if you keep identifying as a maladaptive dreamer, someone who escapes or dissociates, that’s exactly what reality will reflect back.

but you have to break that loop. you can’t sit and stare at your wounds forever. i’ve shifted both physical and mental conditions just by changing my self-concept and choosing new assumptions. it’s possible. the only thing standing in your way is the story you keep telling yourself.

My spiritual journey started when I began dreaming about a man I think is my fs, otherwise I don't get why I'd be so involved with someone I don't even know, but that pushed me to learn more about spirituality in general.

This progressed into what I believe is the most useless ability ever, which is clairolfaction like I just randomly smell someone who isn't even with me atm. The first time was a men's perfume and I'm terrible at describing scents, but this one felt very rich, deep and expensive. Once, just to get my attention I smelled a men's deodorant that I don't own. A couple of times I even caught his body odor and farts and I swear it wasn't me 😭😭

Basically, I smell him when he's super happy and excited, which usually happens when he's eating desserts or sweets or when he's completely drained.

Ooooh!! I’ve read on it once, and it was on the post I rebbloged lol. That’s really interesting! I assume he’s the one you smell the most right? But you could smell other people?

Lmaoo I wonder, is his smell good when excited and bad when drained? Like, are their specific smells or smells you like vs. dislike depending on his mood? As for his farts, if you can fart back to tell him to stop ´cause that’s sticky 😂😷 do it! He deserves to know that your nose should be respected too haha

I don’t think this is a weird thing at all, but it must be very strange when you’re not used to it or the first time it happened! Especially since it’s not talked about a lot
