Can you imagine what it must be like to have a condition characterized by distress from loud noises, and being in constant pain and fear due to the unrelenting sound of bombing and guns? A condition characterized by fear and aversion to change, when your neighborhood, home, and life before, all gone and reduced to rubble?
I have been corresponding with Duaa, her son Omar is 5 years old and in dire condition, he is autistic and needs treatment due to the trauma of the bombing and missiles. Their family is still in Gaza in horrific conditions under threat of disease and death, Duaa's father had a stroke due to the unrelenting stress and is unable to get treatment. She and Omar were able to escape to Egypt but she cannot work as Egypt requires them to have a permit.
