Axel wields fire and uses it to enhance his chakrams. A good liar, he makes a point of keeping himself difficult to read, coming off as fooling around when his mind is at work manipulating others around him. He can summon pillars of flame at will and strike with rapid combos. He betrays Organization XIII for the sake of his friendship with Roxas and usually goes out of his way to help Sora.
