                   “you think that’ll help? you think that’ll take the images in my head of some other guy fuckin’ you? you think that’ll do it?” he’s got no reason to be as salty as he is. “look, i’m sorry. i ain’t got NO reason to be so mad. it’s like karma, you know? i get a taste of my own goddamn medicine. ‘bout damn time, too.” he nods a single nod and reaches for his cell phone, pulling youtube up. “go grab the gas mask.”

          it wasn’t her place to tell drew to not react how he was. she’d broken the trust they’d worked years at strengthening. so, instead of crying or yelling or acting out in any way at all, andrea just nodded and stood up. “what strain you want with it? i think i brought 818 OG, laughing budha, and silver kush. they’re all in my bag.” her hand drags in the air behind her like a cape ready to fall off before stepping into drew’s bed area and grabbing the mask. while behind one of the dark sheets he’d hung as a faux wall, andrea shimmied out of her shorts and strutted back to the couch in only his ratty crew neck and the two week old gas mask. “so -- what’d you pick?”

            everything that added up to this moment was what he could have wished for. coming up north to hang out with grandma and grandpa decker was beyond a beautiful idea. “why would i carry you? those nights at the gym weren’t enough to prepare you for maybe fifteen minutes of trekking through the woods? c’mon.” he brews it over in his head, but then nods a single time and squats beside her. “hop on.” his right hand swings back over his shoulder and pats his back.

       “you’d carry me because i’m the one who leaves marks all over your back and i’ll let you go down on me when we’re coming down from the trip.” the wink she offers was less than needed seeing drew squat down. a grin tugs tight at the youngest decker’s full lips. “i’m so in love with you. holy shit.” content as could be, andrea hopped on his back, securing her safety by gripping her own wrists as they dropped over his shoulders and down his chest. “let’s go, wild man.”
