early miraculous ladybug fandom was truly something else. we didn’t know who hawk moth was. we thought marinette was colorblind. if you were REALLY early then you watched the first few episodes in korean because they hadn’t even dropped in french yet. the word “kwami” wasn’t given to us until the SECOND TO LAST EPISODE of season one. no exposition no explanation absolutely zero context for what was going on. no one knew what order we were supposed to watch the episodes in. marichat had a total of two (2) interactions and yet it was the most popular side of the love square by far. no one was within the show’s target demographic. we all just collectively and without question latched onto a kid’s show about french superheroes and RAN with it
