Joshua T. White is an International Affairs Fellow with the Council on Foreign Relations. Previously, he served as a Jennings Randolph Peace Scholar at the U.S. Institute of Peace. His research focuses on political stability, Islamic politics, and regional security in South Asia. He has participated in several high-level U.S.-Pakistan Track II strategic dialogues. He is the author of Pakistan’s Islamist Frontier: Islamic Politics and US Policy in Pakistan’s North West Frontier and several articles in peer-reviewed journals.
Shamila Chaudhary is a Pakistan expert specializing in U.S.-Pakistan relations, Pakistan’s internal politics, and regional issues in South Asia. She has twelve years of experience working in the U.S. government, most recently at the White House as Director for Pakistan and Afghanistan on the National Security Council from 2010-2011. Prior to her work at the NSC, she worked on the Department of State’s Policy Planning Staff, where she advised Secretary Clinton and the late Ambassador Richard Holbrooke on Afghanistan and Pakistan.
