I’m tired. I’ve not created any new work since February—possibly my longest stint of non-creativity, ever. Am I just experiencing severe artist’s block? Was I just kidding myself the entire time? I’m tired of questioning what it is I want to do, who I am, and if I’m doing any of it right, to boot. I’m tired of no longer having dreams and goals to aspire to other than simply surviving. I’m a slave to the grind of working, paying bills, drinking, and repeating instead of thriving. Where is my person, who are my people, what is my place? What’s the point of any of it? The whole concept has been disgraced. I am bruised and I am blue, in heart and in soul, too. Luckily, this feeling ebbs and flows. It will trickle out of my core eventually and I’ll stumble back into the light. With yet another open heart and an open mind. And please don’t get me wrong—I absolutely do want to be here on this godforsaken planet, I do. Maybe just to see how everything plays out. And maybe for my turn at true happiness, too.
