Just so everyone knows, this blog is going on indefinite hiatus. I wonât be deleting it, and I may return to it, but I donât know when.
I get messages and replies daily now because of some of the posts Iâve made. The one about skinny people fashion and the ones about Kavinsky in particular.
And Iâve now felt suicidal pretty consistently for a couple of weeks and I know part of it is because of this blog and the negativity thatâs resulted from opinions I shared, assuming at the time I posted them that I had thick enough skin to handle the repercussions.
But I donât have thick skin and I know that itâs at this point literally dangerous for me to stay on this blog.
So if you want to follow me elsewhere, you can send me an ask off anon for my new URL. I wonât be giving anyone who doesnât currently follow me the URL.
Just know that on that blog I plan to stay away from discourse and sharing anything personal. I wonât be talking about The Raven Cycle, Maggie Stiefvater, or Kavinsky either. Likely Iâll try to stay away from controversial or political or just plain depressing posts for the most part too. Itâll be very tame in comparison to this blog. Itâll mostly be cute or relaxing videos and pictures, as well as writer info and rescources. Idk. Maybe some memes and shit too.
If any of that sounds like itâs worth following just send me an ask.

I was listening to the NYT podcast âThe Dailyâ about a week ago. The host was speaking with a science and health writer about the coronavirus epidemic in the U.S. and had the following exchange:
Guest: How do you isolate the vulnerable? How do you isolate everybody whoâs obese in this country?
Host: Why do you mention obese?
Guest: Because many have diabetes. And diabetes is one of the conditions that renders you more susceptible to dying of this disease.
If diabetes is the risk factor, why bring up weight at all?? Iâm glad the host pushed back on the claim that obesity is the problem. And thank you to your blog, because if I hadnât been reading your posts I probably wouldnât have noticed how gross this was.

For a long time, I was a self-professed bookworm. Until suddenly, I wasnât.
I know it sounds cliche, but as a crazy bookworm, books have (literally) saved my life. As my mental health kept escalating from panic attacks to long-lasting depressive episodes, PTSD, and dissociative disorders, Iâve always blamed myself for that terrifying feeling of not being able to connect and feel the words of a book. That Iâm getting old, that Iâm becoming stupid, that Iâm not trying enough. And that was a hard pill to swallow.
This article really helped me to understand those mental mechanisms and how I need to stop beating myself and actually focus on a different, more self-compassionate approach; the need to deal with unprocessed traumas and toxic behaviors that have been anchored within me. They are the problem, not me. Period.
