(Long Overdue) Thoughts
Hello, Tumblr.
I sort of went back and forth in my mind about writing this piece. Thing is, I haven't--actually--written anything about turning older for quite some time. If I'm not mistaken, the last time I did write something down about the subject matter was during my early twenties.
So, rambling aside... 26. Twenty-freaking-six. What the hell, time? 8") It's kind of surreal to think that this is technically the first year of my late twenties. Turning a quarter of a century felt mere days ago and suddenly--BOOM--you're twenty-six.
I've never been good with introspective stuff, I think. If someone asked me whether I've learned anything this year... my answer would probably to shrug and say, "Maybe?"
I suppose I've been through quite a lot this year. Perhaps the biggest thing that happened to me was moving to China to continue my education--pursuing a masters degree on international business. Several unfortunate things went down in Bali that led to this decision--I'm probably not going to go over this in much detail, but suffice to say disagreements happened and reconciliation was not an option at the time. I took it as a blessing in disguise, though... as a result of this little "fiasco" I ended up actually going through with the plan to China.
Nothing much changed in the personality and mindset department, I think. I'm more or less aware of how much change can happen in a year, but I really don't feel any different.
I guess as you get older age does become a number.
