It is incredible how we construct untruths to protect ourselves from facing the reality of pain. The worst part is that we unknowingly are further inflicting pain on our souls by continuing to build and believe such nonsense.

Last year I wanted something so bad that when it failed I delusionally constructed this story that it was just a myth that I never wanted. A part of myself was so scared that it would never work out that I dropped interest to stop myself before inflicting more hurt by failing again. So I started to build this lie and construct this defensive barrier. In reaction I took a stance that was 180 degrees away from my real desire and everyday pushed myself further and further away. Everyday my soul was choking a little bit more.

And then something magic happened.  I was confronted with a painful situation and everything that I had been trying to avoid was staring me in the face. And it was this brief moment of clarity that produced the honest truth. What I wanted had been sitting there the entire time just in the wrong format. 

As if I knew I wanted the perfect summer dress and had been spending a long time in a store that didn't have my size because I had built this myth that the perfect dress had to come from said store. When I realized it was the dress not the store that mattered it allowed me to put things in perspective and revisit what I had originally desired.

Release yourself from the lies you are building and just allow yourself to be aware of your heart & soul. If you listen, they will reveal to you everything you want and need.

Its time we take the first step. Admitting we need help.
