OrioleClan was struck down by an unknown predator. Something dark and vicious, a creature the clans had never seen before. Many cats were lost in the attack, and now they struggle with their dwindling numbers. Can they survive?

"Until you have proven yourself loyal to OrioleClan, you will become an apprentice and be confined to camp. You will never meet that tom again. Am I understood?"

He and Endless split up after the truth, but he doesn't fully want to stay out of the kits' lives. He understands that the kits are innocent and wouldn't outright disown them. He doesn't seem like that kind of cat.

2. He's understanding about why Endless didn’t say anything, because of prejudice against outsiders. She was expecting before they even became mates, and she needed a cover, so the Clan wouldn't get suspicious of disloyalty.

3. Sorrelnut was the father after all and Hayleopard royally messed up.

Ahh, these are all very good!

Sorrelnut would never abandon a kit, even if he wasn't their father. Curlykit isn't even blood related to him, but he took him in after his mother (one of Sorrelnut's closest friends) had passed.

"How does it feel to nest with a traitor?" Hayleopard's voice rasped across the camp towards the loving couple who cuddled beside each other on the grass, ignoring the playful giggles of the kits not too far away. Sorrelnut immediately went on edge at the words, Endless stiffening beside him. "Back off, Hayleopard," he growled, the moppy fur on his back bristling with anger. "You're not going to start harassing them like Darkrain was." The older molly scoffed in response. "This has nothing to do with hunting. At least having those mutts gave them a better excuse than a bum leg—" "Do NOT call my children mutts!" The sound of merriment nearby ceased, Cindermurk's attention being pulled away from Oakkit and Galekit as he eyed the ongoing altercation. His demeanor changed instantly from joyful to stern, his training from moons as deputy taking over instinctively. With ears pinning back, the tom made his way over. "They are NOT YOUR CHILDREN!" "...what?"

After much complaint from Endless, they're finally ushered into the nursery once it became too painful to stand on all four paws. While cooped up in the ridiculous spacious nest that Sorrelnut had fashioned himself (the damn thing nearly took up the whole den!), Endless hoped the litter would be small... The thought of a large litter of kits overwhelmed them.
