Serenade 2: The Serenadening.
There are original bits, too, variations on the Serenade theme, which eventually slows down and fades out, setting the stage for some Ruins at 4:07.
I'm tempted to say the slow, building strings starting at 3:03 are from Jade Dragon, but that might be a stretch.
if I've ever implied that Ascend is the only official track to reference MeGaLoVania, I'm wrong. The Blind Prophet, a bonus track off AlterniaBound, has a bit. also it has hank hill
Sarabande, a reprise of Sarabande.
This is going to be a fairly heavy one, so I'll do this mostly in list form.
Starts out with Endless Climb. 0:40 Crystalanthemums 1:48 Atomyk Ebonpyre 2:35 I always think this is dESPERADO rOCKET cHAIRS, but it's not. But if you were hearing that and thought "hey that sounds like something" and it was bothering you, you were probably thinking of that. 2:46 Doctor, which continues into the next mini section as the piece opens up. 3:10 Explore 3:16 Flare According to hsmusic.wiki, there's a sample of Three In The Morning somewhere around here, but I can't hear it. Explore continues, while at 3:34 there's arguably an instance of Those Four Notes from Sburban Jungle.
Those drums tho.
Anyway, at 5:04, the piece turns into an evolution of Even In Death/Upward Movement, particularly T'Morra's Belly Mix.
There's also a Canon Edit of this, much later in Act 7. It has more bits. I'll get to that eventually. :)

END OF VOL. 9
> Symphony Impossible to Play ==>
BONUS TRACK: Frustracean by Toby "Radiation" Fox
oh jesus christ.
Uh, right, okay, it's. It's a fever dream version of Crustacean. And then, uh.... about a full minute of silence, and then Nic Cage gives you a boner, and then a little bit of How Do I Live plays at 2:33.
wait fuck
BONUS TRACK: Another Countdown
As its title suggests, it's just a remix of Another Jungle, as Sburban Countdown is to Sburban Jungle.
While this technically isn't a bonus track anymore after the Great Condensation as I've taken to calling it, it was in the original release, and so to keep with the format, I'm not goi

Rounding out the end of the album (besides bonus tracks - which I WILL be covering this time!) is a gentle, original piano piece from Nick Smalley.
i will actually kill whoever decided to merge the albums and lose half of the track art. ESPECIALLY the ones that merge volumes with themed albums!
Starts out as a dramatic, orchestral remix of Dissension, but it comes into its own around 1:13 with some original dramatism. At ~2:55, it has some stabs of Dissension, before the full reprise of the beginning at 3:10.
4:58 and the following section feel like a reference to something, but it may be original here. I'm a bit rusty at this.
Either way, it blends rhythmically into some Carefree Victory at 6:11, from a beautiful solo guitar.
7:11 brings us back the Dissension motif, undercut beautifully with Showtime on the horns.
Overall, some great work from Seth "Beatfox" Peelle.
oh christ, are all the Bandcamp embeds broken, or is it just my phone?
The Plan™: 2.0
My original The Plan™ was a bit ambitious, and possibly overestimated my own enthusiasm. That said, I am 100% going to finish the canon Homestuck albums. That means up to Vol. 10. Then, I'll go back from the beginning for a final sweep, checking xzaz and hsmusic.wiki, and only doing a deep listen if they have something listed that I don't. I'll also be doing bonus tracks that I skipped on account of being a baby with no money.
After that, I may do the Hiveswap albums. I have no plans to do anything from Beyond Canon, as I haven't read HS^2.
I'm still going to do The Baby Is You though. Like, I gotta. If only so I can also do Radiation's song in Pokemon and shout NO YOU DICKHEADS HE DIDN'T PUT THE BABY IS YOU IN POKEMON IT'S A STRETCH AT BEST YOU GUYS JUST BELIEVE WHAT PEOPLE SAY BECAUSE YOURE TOO COWARDLY TO LISTEN TO THE BABY IS YOU YOURSELF

hsmusic.wiki is great, the homestuck.net visualizer is awesome, but since Formspring died, I'm still the only bitch with a full, timestamped Descend list.
