I used to read the Cryptics’ humming as just a standard “hmmmmm,” like detectives in the movies do, but now my internal narrator insists on making it sound just like the Skeksis’ “mmmMMMMMMMmmmm” from the Dark Crystal and it fills me with rage.
Pretty darn certain there aren’t any plans for a stage adaptation of Murdle, but if there were to be one, I think there are only really two options for its format.
It’s a normal play, but Irratino is convinced it could/should be a musical and tries to start musical numbers at every twist and turn.
It’s a musical, and Logico is the only one who won’t join in with the singing and dancing. Bonus points if it’s sung-through entirely and the orchestra just goes awkwardly silent for Logico’s spoken lines.
Obviously it’s on stage so the audience can fill out the deduction grid based on clues in the play and have interactions, like some of the adaptations of Clue.
This is minor, but I find it a tiny bit irksome that in the “Too Many Pinkies” episode, Pinkie Pie’s friends didn’t realize that the clone having an existential crisis over whether they’d be able to find the right Pinkie WAS the original Pinkie.
I get that the episode would be too short if they immediately came to that conclusion, but I don’t think their only reasoning for ruling that one out should have been “That can’t be Pinkie. Pinkie is never sad” as if they don’t realize their friend has emotional depth.
Fun way to sort characters.

You know how in elementary school, they introduced you to the concept of “tone” in speech and “body language” and demonstrated the body language and tone of a person who was REALLY REALLY SAD or REALLY REALLY ANGRY or SUPER BORED, so you saw the demonstrations and went “Neat, that’s a nice obvious way to figure out the general mood of my fellow human beings,” but then you grew up and found out that your teachers were heavily overacting, and most human beings aren’t nearly that expressive, so you STILL can’t read people?
Oops, I accidentally implied that I went back in time to kill Frank Sinatra.
The year 2000 can be called “the turn of the century.”
You can use this knowledge to make 26-year-olds feel ancient.
That scene when Wax, Wayne, Melaan, Steris, and Marasi all check into the hotel is what made me realize they’re basically a D&D party.
They check into a hotel, Wax does property damage for quest purposes, Steris starts describing every possible disaster that could happen to the poor hotel owner, Wayne asks the hotel owner for her hat in case he has to “be an old lady,” MeLaan bursts into the room periodically while choosing a form to take, and Marasi is the only player trying to have mercy on the DM.
D&D Party.
I haven’t gotten to see much of Steris yet because I’ve only read the first book of the Wax and Wayne series so far, but she’s my favorite! I want to see more.
I have now read the second book of the Wax and Wayne series and I love Steris MORE!
And I really hope she has more than two scenes in Bands of Mourning. She’s on the cover, so she better be relevant for more than 15-20 pages.

Bad Game Idea: Oops, I Didn’t Prepare for this Conversation Simulator
It’s a choose-your-own-adventure story where you get a timed dialogue prompt and 4 blank dialogue options. You just have to choose one random option and hope it’s a good one.
There are no good ones.
Is it just me, or is there something about the new apple homescreen layout that just hurts the eyes?
I’m sure there’s a metaphor for something embedded in the dichotomy between cooking-oriented minds and baking-oriented minds.
Mostly because when my mom (cooking-minded) was teaching me (baking-minded) to make lasagna, and I asked her how much of each ingredient we needed during each step, her response was usually “As much as you want. Just wing it. I improvise this every time.”
And I really, REALLY, just wanted her to give me an actual measurement.
I haven’t gotten to see much of Steris yet because I’ve only read the first book of the Wax and Wayne series so far, but she’s my favorite! I want to see more.
Y’know what I really love about Sondheim’s musicals? The voice type diversity. There’s at least 1 of each voice type (excluding bass, I think. Unless I just don’t know the shows with basses) in the main cast of his most famous shows. I think we need to bring that back, honestly.

Question, because I keep hearing people who say it the other way around than I consider it.
Which one is which?
“Nod head” = Up and down for “yes.” “Shake head” = Side to side for “no.”
“Shake head” = Up and down for “yes.” “Nod head” = Side to side for “no.”
D&D Feats that aren’t helpful at all, but add character (Part 1, probably)
Nearsighted - The character has disadvantage on ranged attacks and perception checks that rely on sight UNLESS they are wearing glasses.
Unobservant - The character has permanent disadvantage on perception checks, and their passive perception lowers by their highest mental stat bonus.
