@sylibane tagged me last week and the nice thing about being this late is i can fill and return the tag at the same time! go do one! here's mine:

"terrible, sir?" blake's eyebrow goes up, artful, so familiar and yet made entirely new. his face is smeared with coal dust and grease and he is beautiful. that's far more compelling than the repartee, so vimes promptly dispenses with it. "aren't you pretty?" he says instead, rubbing a thumb over blake's cheek to smudge it further. "a charcoal painting, you are." that's something he'd never say to the patrician, fully aware of the insufferable smugness he'd be met with. but this isn't the patrician, is it? no, this is some punk called blake. stoker blake isn't coming from a place of unquestioned superiority; he has no reason to be smug. instead, to vimes's delight, he scoffs and twists in his grasp.
