Paulina Dgu said “My children often complained of stomach pains and missed school because of the dirty water they drink and collect down in the river and I had always gone into the bush for the toilet I never liked it, it was uncomfortable and embarrassing, But now things have changed we have a well which provides safe clean water to drink and latrines in the village thanks to WellFound our village is cleaner because I can wash in the latrine”.

I have more time for my children, grow crops and take care of my farm because the well is so close to us, and life is easier”.

Just imagine having to travel over 5 kilometres just to get to the water source and then carrying often 20 kilos (the allowance for our holiday luggage) back to your home.

In the East, West and South of Burkina Faso over 60,000 people are crucially in need of safe clean water and sanitation facilities.

The people have to walk long distances to find water, particularly women and children. There are no latrines, people use bushed or going behind their homes when it’s dark. This behavior is a good contamination factors and spread disease quickly.
