Greed had a plan. He’d get in, find what he came for, and get out, nothing more nothing less. He opened the door to the small cabin, and shut it slowly behind him, hoping Mist was out so he wouldn’t have to see him again. Ever. With a big sigh, Greed crept to his room, shoving whatever belonged to him into his coat pockets, and then quickly leaving the room as fast as he entered. Just as he was ready to dash, he heard faint cries from the room parallel to his own.
Mist kept the light off on purpose. It was dark in his room, and he sat on the floor, chipping away at the rough spots on the ground, watching as his tears temporarily darkened the shade of the wood below him. How idiotic of him to think he could fix things with sheer motivation. It was useless to think he could fix anything at all, and as the dark thoughts crept on, his optimistic facade fading, Mist’s sobs grew louder.Â
Despite Mist’s height, Greed could only see half his face over the bed’s frame, but he could see he was crying, could see the sparkle gone from his eyes. God damn it. No. No way in hell was Greed going to start feeling sorry for him now.
"Fuck no!"
Mist gasped, looking up to see a flash of green before the door shut forcefully. Without thinking it through, he stood, running off-balance and dizzy out the door, and toward the figure he recognized as his best friend.Â
"Greed, please, stop, please!" His voice was raspy and broke every few syllables, but he didn’t care. He wasn’t letting him get away again.
His conscious, though the voice typically wasn't as insisting, made it obvious to him that he had to at the very least talk things out with him, and at least try and restrain himself from murdering this man on the spot. So he stopped running, staying emotionless as Mist ran into him, knocking the boy back.
"What do you want?"
Greed, whether you forgive him or not, you need to talk to Mist..
Avoiding problems always worked fine for me, I don't see why I shouldn't do it again!

Surely you aren't just going to leave without talking to him!
Why the fuck shouldn't I?? Besides, I think he already saw me...

MOOD FOR WHAT, YOUR DEATH?
WHAT
So Greed just how badly did you hurt Mist a couple weeks ago?
I'd be doubtful that I didn't leave scars for him to prove it himself.

Yeah, I know~
Greed leaned over to kiss her cheek. “Whatever makes you happy, okay? If you feel we need a break from everything, then I will fucking carry you to hawaii myself, or wherever you want to go. I’ll do whatever you want." He smirked, winking at her.
She sat back up, and kissed him gently. “Thanks. That… that really means a lot." Her phone buzzed as she stood up. Nat had been texting her for a little while, but this text was from Mist. Glancing at it, she sighed. “Hey, I’m gonna get ready for bed okay? I know it’s a bit early but I don’t think I can keep my eyes open much longer. Come join me whenever you’d like." Once she got up to their room, she stared at the text message. "Pinkie, I know this sounds hard to believe but my factory is gone. I don’t care how big my company was getting, it isn’t worth it to lose you and Greed. You’re my family. Please, give me one more chance?" Biting her lip, she tried to think out what she was going to say to him. Despite everything, it was only fair he knew if she and Greed were going to be away. Could he really blame them? "Mist, there’s no need to throw away your business. We both know how much it means to you. In any case I’ve asked Greed to go away with me for awhile. It’s hard enough being here, and the smog doesn’t help. I don’t know where we’re going, and I don’t know when we’ll be back."
Mist bit his lip, blinking tears away. It was fair enough for them to leave, but he didn't want them forgetting about him and just decide to not come back or something.Â
He grabbed his phone in his hands, typed out, "It's not my dream if it hurts you." then put it away, sighed, and walked on.
