Princess dress!

Rather tame for Anna. 

Beautiful colour and flattering, simple cut.

Not sure about the bust crossover bling but she does like to tizz things up.

Excellent recital or competition frock choice.

I'll be honest, I don't know what's going on here, or who dressed her (with long gloves), but I'm gonna go ahead and say no anyway. I'm sure it's some fabulous haute couture limited edition million dollar dress, but...

Oh, JOYCE!

This dress is awesome. Very flattering for her shape. (Not my shape. I couldn't wear it.) Perfect recital wear and freed up around the arms to allow for movement and expression.

It's quite hard to find pictures of Barbara Bonney on stage singing with a piano or orchestra. Come on, Babs. Release thy glory onto the Googles.

This is a fantastic dress, and fantastic boobage.

Generally, the retired opera singers I've worked with say that you SHOULDN'T reveal cleavage, too much leg, etc, because it means that panel or audience is focusing on something other than your voice and your face. 

I don't know if this is a costume; the microphone would suggest that probably it's not from an opera performance, but the stage is hard to tell from. Any ideas?

How fabulous is this frock?  I'd wear it for an aria competition.

Daaaaamn, but if that ain't an outfit. Wow.

Very elegant. Not many of us could get away with that kind of fit across the tummy whilst taking deep singer breaths, but somehow, Ms Voigt manages it.

A surprise performance with Kristin Chenoweth at Carnegie Hall in May was almost enough to make up for the bodice and sleeves on that dress... 

Dress by Ralph Lauren. I don't know what the occasion for this dress was, but I'm gonna go ahead and say "no" anyway.

It's nice to channel a bit of Jessye sometimes, though.

Susan Graham in her favourite colours again. Very interesting colour choice. If it were in cream and gold, she'd look like a queen. Think this colour combination is channelling a little bit mermaid, a little bit Queen Mab. I actually love these colours.

The cut of this dress is perfect for an opera singer who is self-conscious about tummy. Love the way that the fabric falls in folds down her sides. It's quite queenly.

Great hair. Big earrings. Old-fashioned jewellery. 

Versatile one-shouldered shawl affair for Susan.  Do we like it with indigo underlay or mulberry?  These are the colours that I gravitate toward when picking out colours. Clearly I need to be best friends with Susan.

Joyce always gets the hair right. Note both styles above. Loving it.
