Long afterwards I realized why some men, racing drivers and their like, become addicted to speed. There are those of us who never see death ahead, but eternally behind: in any moment that stops and thinks.
— John Fowles, The Magus
The Magus (1968), dir. Guy Green
43-year-old John Fowles’ 3rd novel was published on 10 November 1969.
The modernist take on the Victorian novel (with 3 alternate endings), The French Lieutenant’s Woman was an immediate success, but divided critics, who both praised and panned Fowles’ effort to combine post-modern devices in a historical novel (”A novel is something new. It must have relevance to the writer’s now - so don’t ever pretend you live in 1867; or make sure the reader knows it’s a pretence,” Fowles wrote to himself during work on the novel).

A Rare Devil May Cry Advertisement From 2001
This advertisement was featured in an issue of PSM to promote Devil May Cry’s release. I have never seen it floating around on the internet before, so I decided to make a scan.
Just kidding, I made this in Photoshop a few months. I tried making it look authentic as possible. I hope everyone enjoys this fan art though!
