Finally got over to see the @hudsonvalleymoca museum, right in Peekskill. They have a great sculpture show up called “Death is Irrelevant,” featuring art by a lot of artists I like. Jason Lutes was one of my favorite and best teachers. Congrats to him on finishing his epic graphic novel - BERLIN - 22 years in the making. I was honored to be a part of the 159 artists who re-drew a page or more of the book as a present for Jason to celebrate the completion of the book. Props also go to @andsoluke for originating and organizing this crazy project.

I don't normally do one of these, but 2017 was a particularly rough year on several fronts for yours truly from life to work to family to seeing what new atrocity had been tweeted at 5am each morning. But also at almost every turn this year, I found comics to inspire me to keep going. Here is a big pile of them and I know I'm missing a few -and trust me it's not personal, it is budgetary- and some were online only. Special shout out to my good friend @stevegatrost for keeping me drawing and being an inspiration with his work ethic and general good vibes - he'll have a comic out for my 2018 list. And hopefully I'll finally finish my own comics project in 2018 and be able to start the next one I'm excited about. Thank you all and hopefully 2018 can be better for all of us. Happy new year.
