I knew she had a degree but didn’t know she was the most educated First Lady.

One day when I was in 6th grade my mom stumbled upon the first few sexy drawings I ever did (they weren’t erotic, they were only drawings of naked ladies) and she showed them to my dad, he then came to talk to me and asked why I had never showed them to him and I said that I felt shy to show them to anyone and that I was afraid of what people might have to say about me. He told me that he understood but that I shouldn’t feel that way since the naked body is the most natural thing and that all those negative feelings that I had were just a result of the wrong views  that society had put on the naked human body. He then said that next time I do another drawing that I should show it to him if I felt comfortable doing so. One night I went to his studio to show him my new naked lady drawing and he loved it. I told him that I was now totally comfortable sharing these sorts of drawings with others and that I didn’t care what others had to say, upon hearing that he said, “So then it’s okay if I put it on our fridge, right?” I said, “Yes, totally!” But inside I was going “nooo don’t, I’m still shy!” My dad knew that there was still this negative feeling in me about creating this sort of art, that’s why he suggested placing it on the fridge and let me tell you I’m so glad he did because when I saw it there I felt an immense feeling of freedom in me and all this shame in me totally banished. Since then I’ve never felt insecure or ashamed about creating this type of art. My father knew what he was doing that night, and it was one of the many great gifts he gave me. A government that cares about climate change

Now that Tumblr is going to end. I want to say, allowing myself to post my naked body was a large part of what helped me love my body, seeing other people post their bodies allowed me to see that bodies really are different, that we are really limited in what human bodies actually look like. It is a sad day for the exploration of self, through a visual medium. Now where can I share my naked body openly, freely and without shame?
