⚪️ a kiss on the cheek // do what u want for this but bun mom gotta love on the hare son~
Send one for a kiss from my muse. [accepting]
⚪️ a kiss on the cheek @littlekingofoz
“You know, Kazuma, a little bunny told me that you’ve actually looked up to me for a while, that you think I’m.. cool!” Judy couldn’t resist a small tease towards the hare, glancing up at him with a playful grin. It was flattering, honestly, and she felt proud that could could inspire bunnies and hares alike. It was also sweet considering how aloof the young hare could act around her.
Grinning, Judy reached up to take his face between her paws, lightly squishing his cheeks. “And I know you’re going to deny it, so don’t get all embarrassed, okay? It’s actually really sweet, and, for what it’s worth, I really think you’re cool, too.”
Breathing a quiet little laugh, Judy pushed herself up onto the pads of her feet and pressed a big, playful kiss against Kazuma’s cheek fondly.
Kazuma looked up from his phone at Judy’s words, furrowing his brow slightly at her teasing tone… Okay, so maybe it was true that he did look up to her. But really, how could he not? She was so cool and strong and managed to make her dreams come true with so much hard work. He always looked up to strong animals like that, but she started out as just a little bunny from a carrot farming family! He was a small hare from his own big family. He could relate to her a little more.
He tried to turn away but his face was caught in her paws, making him look down at her as he felt his cheeks warm up. ‘Don’t get embarrassed’ she says… Easy for her to say… Her own compliment certainly didn’t help with his blushing. Whether she was just saying it to tease him a little more, or she actually thought he was cool, he didn’t know and honestly, didn’t care. That was the best thing he’d heard all day.
Kazuma’s eyes widened slightly at the kiss to his cheek and he could feel his ears drop back. “Come on, Judy. Quit bein’ all mushy.” He muttered as he finally pulled away, furrowing his brow slightly. “… ‘Course I think you’re cool. Nothin’ worth a kiss on the cheek though, is it?”
“Oh, I could get a lot more mushy if you like.” Judy grinned at him, seeing the obvious blush on his cheeks. He was adorable, really, and while she hadn’t known Kazuma very long, she was already looking at him and treating him as though he were one of her own siblings, despite the fact that he was a hare and not a rabbit.
She smiled, gently jabbing her elbow against his chest, letting out a short laugh. “Come on, Kazuma! Nothing to get embarrassed about, right? I’m actually really flattered that you think I’m cool. I don’t think I’ve ever been called cool before.” Scary, maybe -- dork if you really got to know her, but she didn’t think anyone had ever viewed her as cool before.
The study was a large, almost cavernous room with old-fashioned bookshelves, file cabinets, and a large rosewood desk that was the focal point. Papers were scattered all around. Tundra Town’s icy winds whipped in every so often from the open window, but it seemed to have mostly died down.
A large fireplace at one end of the room looked as if it hadn’t been used in years; marks of soot and a collection of fire tools splayed out on the wooden floor. Hanging above it was a large portrait of a stern black wolf in late middle age, his eyes narrowed with austere detachment. The dated style of dour jacket he wore let Judy know it wasn’t painted in the last twenty years. In one hand he clutched what looked like a black collar, a small grey box attached to the side of it.
The files proved confusing more than anything. None of them seemed related to the goings on at the meetings at all. There were dozens of incredibly complex diagrams, mostly too confusing for the untrained eye to read, but the general shape of what they were regarding was clear: a shock collar of some kind. Had this been what the mayor had written about? But the documents were dated too old… 1988, 1990… the dates were all wrong.
As she rifled through the drawers, she found more. Death certificates. Konstantin Canidae, 2010. And… Imelda Vulpes Canidae. Dated 1981.
There was even a scrap of a paper on which a diary entry was written:
“The fourth prototype of the collar is a success. The collar is virtually inaccessible to the wearer - she has injured herself several times trying to remove it - and it delivers shocks of 10,000 volts for a duration suitable to cause muscle convulsions and render the subject effectively immobilized; unable to attack, to defend, to run, occasionally rendered unconscious, and certainly unable to enter a heightened state of rage heretofore deemed casually as “savage.” The term was taken from Ovis’ reports. However, there is one problem with the device. The shocks are unpredictable. They occur when she is attacked, when she is scared, when she is insulted and verbally threatened - basically any time her heart rate is elevated and her emotional state in tumult. More vexing yet are the number of times the convulsions wee violent to a level necessitating immediate medical attention from the medical doctors present on staff. This is not ideal. The collar is only to activate in times of savagery, but I have been unable to goad the subject into such a state. Experiments and monitoring will continue.”
Judy barely had time to make sense of the entry before she heard something behind her.
“Judy Hopps. I could have your badge for this. What is it you are doing here, officer?” It was Mayor Canidae. Her tone was a cautious mixture of calm and trembling, but as her sentence ended Judy could hear - or see, if she turned fast enough - her closing the window through which Judy had entered.
“My bodyguards and compatriots have all gone away. ” The room was dark. Lit only by the moon even still. “I am alone. Am I to be afraid of you? Or are you to be afraid of me.”
Judy rifled through some of the files in her hands, eyebrows furrowing and anxiety rising up within her. There was clearly something terribly wrong going on here, and she was near desperate to find something else that explained what she had just read -- more information, an explanation. Something.
She lifted the diagrams for the shock collar, scanning them with a frown tugging at her lips. That was definitely something else.. What kind of depraved mind would invent a shock collar? That was.. unspeakable! No-one deserved that sort of treatment, and just the thought of it sent shivers racing down the rabbits spine. The mayor couldn’t have designed this, surely. The dates were wrong, this was before her time. So who had designed them? And why?
Taking a photo of the diagrams, she set those aside too, and moved on, quickly trying to find some documents that may explain exactly what the collars did, and why they had even been designed in the first place. Was the mayor trying to implement collars for Predators? Was that what the letter meant?
Her eyes scanned briefly over the death certificates of The Mayor’s parents, frowning slightly. before she slowly picked up the aged diary entry, moving into better light to be able to read it. What she discovered made her feel physically sick to her stomach. 10,000 volts of electricity delivered to someone, an actual animal had this horrific device attached to them. Some may have called it an experiment, but Judy saw it as torture. Whoever this was had been tortured. It seemed like it had been tested on a predator, given the term ‘savagery’ but there wasn’t much detail other than that, so she couldn’t be entirely certain.
The sound of a voice behind her caused her to stiffen, ears and nose twitching at the sound. How had she not heard her come in?! She had been so absorbed in what she was reading, she was better than this!
Spinning around to face the Mayor, Judy stared up at her defiantly, ignoring the thrill of slight panic she felt as her exit was closed off, slipping her phone into her pocket and covertly pressing the record button upon her carrot pen as she did so. Incriminating evidence or not, Judy wanted to make sure she got everything the mayor was saying from here on in.
“Could you?” Judy challenged, narrowing her eyes. “Because considering you just had a meeting with a violent group of anti-prey predators that I was assigned to track down, I think I have just cause for being here, especially considering what I heard down there.” She retorted. Quite simply, the mayor needed to know that Judy wasn’t so easily pushed around.
Judy slowly breathed in deeply and exhaled, trying to keep her cool. This was an opportunity to get answers -- she had to at least try.
“I guess that depends. Tell me, Mayor Canidae. Have you always been anti-prey? Did you always intend to try and give violent thugs police power to assert their authority?” Her eyes narrowed. “---and why do you have plans for shock collars?”
“Dare to dream little sister.” She hummed before walking towards the pizza joint. At least she offered to pay– Clementine hadn’t been here long enough to get her first paycheck yet. Payday wasn’t that far off, thankfully.
“How about you go grab us a table and I’ll go up to the counter and order. What toppings do you want?”
“Sounds like a plan to me!” Judy agreed with a smile, opening up the door to the pizza place and glancing around. It wasn’t too packed, luckily, so there were quite a few tables available. At the mention of toppings, Judy furrowed her eyebrows.
“Hmm.. Maybe peppers and tomatoes? Ooh! Get the carrot crust option! It’s really good, and since we’re treating ourselves anyway, we might as well!” Judy smiled and turned, heading towards one of the smaller booths by the window, pulling herself up and sitting down on the soft plush seat.
Zootopia Love #14
Nick when Chief Bogo demands Judy’s badge. That moment of dawning comprehension as he realizes that this isn’t a game. That his shenanigans may have had an impact. On a bunny that just saved his life. It’s that moment where his way of dealing with the world – his sarcastic, indifferent shell – can’t be maintained in the face of what he’s witnessing.
It’s an inflection point for him, and Nick’s face shows it all.
@oneslybunny liked for a starter
It was fair to say the cub had never seen Zootopia, her olive eyes full of awe as she watched the city buildings as if they were a thing of wonder. Which to her they were, her sensitive eyes fully adjusted to the darkness she watched the strange animals walking around on their hind legs. That seemed rather impractical if they asked her, she was also confused by the articles of cloth they kept wrapped around their bodies. The cream lion cub was already kind of hot, she couldn’t imagine adding another layer of warmth to her fur.
Walking along on all fours the child easily stalked her way through the darkness of night, keeping a sharp ear out for any commotion. Jumping at the slightest noise the savage child hid in a nearby alleyway, it wasn’t until the predator caught a glimpse of the rabbit. Hyena food really, but still they had rabbits where she was from maybe the bunny could direct her in the way back home to the pridelands. With her body low the feline stalked her way closer to the rabbit, keeping her breath slow and quiet. However, she was still a child and tended to mess up her hunting which was obvious when she accidentally growled a little too loud.
“Wait! Don’t run!”
Her language probably wasn’t advanced as the creature before her, after all, she had only ever spoken to feral animals before. With ears back and eyes big the little lion raised up and let out a little mew to let the rabbit know she meant her no harm in case she hadn’t understood her words. With head low, she took a step closer with her ears back, a slight purr now coming from her throat.
“Normally rabbits run away from me, you’re awfully brave.”
Judy was on late patrol. It wasn’t a job she usually took on, preferring day jobs to night ones, but after taking short leave to visit Bunnyburrow due to a family emergency, she was trying to make up for time missed. She’d mostly been patrolling in her cruiser, having been unable to coerce Nick into coming along with her. She’d taken a short break to get a coffee, however, and as she headed back towards her car, cup in hand, she passed by an alleyway.
She felt fine at first, but she began to feel... a strange uneasiness. Her instincts were kicking in, warning her that she was being watched, maybe even followed, and though she continued to walk, her ears twitched, on high alert for the slightest sound. As she heard the growl, Judy didn’t hesitate, tossing her coffee to the side in favour of grasping the taser attached to her belt, where her fox repellent had once been. She spun, holding it out in front of her, eyes narrowed, but froze upon seeing a child.
The child spoke, her language slightly garbled, and Judy could only pick up on bits and pieces of her speech. Not only that, but she walked on all fours, wore no clothes.. For a moment, the thought of the savagery serum popped in her mind, but that made no sense, the child wasn’t hostile, in fact, she seemed overwhelmed by her surrounds. Slowly, Judy put away her taser as the cub inched closer, and smiled reassuringly.
“You think I’m brave? Thank you -- Hello. My name is Judy.” She spoke slowly, unsure if the cub would fully understand her -- there did seem to be some kind of language barrier. “I’m a Police Officer. What’s your name..?”
